What a pleasant surprise with 8 teams showing up for a fantastic night of KingTrivia!

Three of our registered regulars were with us, Gattaca, Foursome and Great Minds Drink Alike along with 4 new and very fun teams.

As always, Gattaca got off to a great start with 2 successful doubles in a row! However, due to the holiday friendly questions, the rest of the pack also doubled successfully in Rounds 2 and 3 and the battle was on. The separation kicked in, in Rd.5 when the top 3 teams all doubled successfully and then it was just a matter of where they would place.

For the beer round we played "Stack The Cups" and it was quite fun to watch. Most of the teams were able to stack 5 cups before they started to tumble. In the end Gattaca had the steadiest hands and took home the free brew.

Heading into Rd.7 4 teams were in the hunt for 1st, but in the end Great Minds Drink Alike took IronMan away from Gattaca by 1 point! Foursome wound up in 3rd ended a great night of trivia

QUIZ RECAP

A very fun night of KingTrivia at Stand Brewing Co,. Had 11 teams to start and 7 of them registered and ready for battle. Some of my favorite regulars were there and it was great to see them all.

Got off to an even start except for Gattaca and Great Minds Drink Alike, who each doubled right off the bat but missed and had to play catchup. Pussy Posse and Funky Filthy Five successfully doubled in Rd. 2 as did Great Minds Drink Alike in Rd.3. It was pretty even heading into Rd.5 but then Choke Me Harder Daddy began to position themselves for the lead by doubling correctly and getting an extra point for finding the connection after question #1, for a very impressive 21 point round!

Played "Suck A Card" for the beer round and had some very impressive "suckers". In the end Cutting Corners showed some massive lung strength and held on for the free Strand Brew.

The top 5 teams all finished strong and it was fun to score. In the end, Choke Me Harder Gregory (They changed their name in round 4, how did they find out my name!!!) took 1st, Gattaca got 2nd and Cutting Corners took 3rd. Each also got Strand gift certificates

QUIZ RECAP

Twas a brisk evening inside Strand Brewing Co. and set the pace for a brisk battle of King Trivia.

All teams were pretty steady and remained a tight race till the end. A new team called The Other Bar Was Full doubled incorrectly in Rd.3 and found themselves a bit behind. But by scoring 8 in Rd.5 and successfully doubling in Rd. 6 they were right back in the thick of it. A young man on that team also had a great suggestion. He asked if they guessed the connection correctly after the first question could they get an extra point. Well I agreed and he did it! Pretty impressive after 1 question and a great idea going forward.

Jeopardy Rejects had a very steady night and also doubled correctly in Rd.6 which vaulted them into 1st place. A very fun group and they earned the win. Another of my favorite teams and a great group of folks Gattaca, had a bit of an off night but still managed to take 2nd! The Other Bar Was Full fought hard for 3rd place with a nice comeback.

2 of our other registered groups Foursome and Great Minds Drink Alike were there but couldn't battle into the top 3.
