It was a fun night of trivia at Woodstocks Santa Cruz! Teams dueled it out for some sick sierra Nevada gear and a woodstocks mug with coupons. Congratulations to Da Breakfast Club for first place, Tater Tots for second and Pepe John’s for third place. A big congratulations to our team Worm Castings (Farmers) for winning best team name. Thank you all for coming out tonight and bearing with me as we had the difficulties.

QUIZ RECAP
21 teams and 113 total players joined us for a fun night of trivia! In Round 1, I asked for Steph Curry's last name as he was on every tv in the building. I had to censor a few team names due to a group of kids in attendance, so players wondered about the ending of Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of... Something. 😉 Eight teams tied for 1st with 12 points! In Round 2, we identified celebrities in disguise, and thankfully I don't grade on spelling with names like Awkwafina (I accepted all 8 spellings that came in). Three teams remained tied for 1st: Tig Ol' Bitties, My Anaconda Don't, and the mysterious Harry Potter team. Round 3 was a round about Winnie the Pooh and marijuana, the day after 4/20. Sure, why not? The Harry Potter team was treated to a beer by the rep from Coronado Brewery for being in the lead halfway through, while the other two teams they'd tied with remained tied for 2nd along with British "People". Round 4 surprised many teams with a *fictional* famous person, and the highest score of the round was Island Boys with 8. Harry Potter held 1st but only by a few points, with Island Boys close behind in 2nd and My Anaconda Don't one point below in 3rd. In Round 5, almost everyone found the connection, but only two teams got all 10 questions right - shout out to My Anaconda Don't and Da Breakfast Club. HP stayed in first but the gap was closing, as the other two podium teams were now tied for 2nd just two points behind them. We sang Happy Birthday to Cyrus of team Bday Boy Cyrus Hatami. Thanks for letting us help you publicly embarrass your friend! In Round 6, two teams got 20 points on the sports announcers - wow! They went. All. The. Wayyyyy! Shout out to Island Boys and Da Breakfast Club, who took over 1st and 2nd respectfully, knocking Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Ass To Mouth (the kids had left and the name their parents requested I censor could finally be revealed) down to 3rd. And finally, Round 7, where it all came down to people on the move. Many a team tried for Double-or-Nothing, but only 2 teams got it: Island Boys and Da Breakfast Club. The leaderboard stayed the same. Remaining players were able to vote on several team names, but Tig Ol' Bitties won by a landslide! It was a super fun night. We'll have a substitute next week and I look forward to seeing you all in two weeks!

QUIZ RECAP
It was a rainy night and a hot trivia crowd! We had 25 teams, 137 players, and special guests from Far West Fungi providing us with a special 3-mushroom pizza. In Round 1, we all had a good laugh as the answer came on the tv right over my head as I read that answer. Will Teach 4 Pizza took an early lead, with a whopping 10 teams tied for 2nd. In Round 2, you could hear the moment teams had to ask themselves, "Wait, do we clap for OJ?" Will Teach 4 Pizza held the lead, and Ice Crunchers and Veer For Beer tied for 2nd. Veer For Beer also had matching team uniforms! In Round 3, we collectively named about all of Tom Hanks' 90's movies. Screw The Kids and Da Breakfast Club tied in taking the lead, and Twins took 3nd, nudging WT4P to 4th by 1 point. In Round 4, four teams got the answer right at the 10 point level - congrats to Twins, Our Couches Pull Out But We Don't, Lukenukeem, and JELB! Twins took 1st and Screw The Kids tied Da Breakfast Club at 2nd. We also had a special challenge to submit your best mushroom joke for a bonus prize. In Round 5, 10 teams found the connection. Da Breakfast Club took 1st as the other two top teams tied for 2nd. Far West Fungi chose their favorite joke. Two, actually, but there were lots of kids present so the one I could read out loud was: "Who won the Woodstocks trivia? The Champignons!" by Kristen of Veer For Beer! We saved the other joke for after the end of trivia when the kids were gone, and on here I'll just say Congrats to Lukenukeem's portabelly joke. 😉 In Round 6, teams came together as a Unit as the competition heated up. Da Breakfast Club held 1st, Twins took 2nd, and Support Small Quiznesses moved up into 3rd. In Round 7, it all came down to hometowns. Congrats to teams Twins and JELB for getting all 11 answers! JELB took home 3rd, Da Breakfast Club was surprised to find themselves in 2nd, and Twins used a Double-or-Nothing to take home the gold. Our Couches Pull Out But We Don't won best team, with FungusAmongUs a close 2nd. It was awesome having you all there, and see you next week.
