Love is in the air. Love of Longship Brewery Beer, that is. And Trivia. But mostly the beer. (If you've never tried the Loki's Wit, you really need to.)
It was a pretty straight forward night, where PQ Legends and the Indifferent Penguins were locked in a struggle for first place, and everyone else duked it out for third place.
1st: PQ Legends
2nd: Indifferent Penguins
3rd: Ongshi (First night out!!!)
For the Beer round we asked our teams to imagine that they were 2nd Grade Vikings and to draw/write a Valentine's Day card that they could drop into the envelopes we used to hang on our desks. It turns out that one of the players brought their daughter, who was working on her own Valentine cards. She made one for us to judge, and it was pretty good. But since she was a little too young, we deemed her the winner of the "Water Round."
Team OJ won the Beer round with their delightful drawing of a Viking Longship sailing right into a heart.
We hope everyone had a great time. If you're flying solo tomorrow on Valentine's Day, make sure to stop by the Brewery, as you'll find one half of team Hawaiian Time partaking of the brews.
Tonight at Longship Brewery, your normal hosts..."The Pretty One" and "Plus One" brought seven rounds of trivia, some spirited competition, and hopefully a few laughs. Rants about the Titanic movie aside.
It was a good night to know sports trivia, as athletic asks abounded. This allowed both the Indifferent Penguins, and the Farkins to double or nothing in round two. They grabbed first and second place and never let it go. Beers 1st - Answers 2nd, QD Cannonballs, PQ Legends, and Hawaiian Time all jostled for third place.
Beer 1st - Answers 2nd pulled out the stops and stole the third place spot, when all was said and done.
The Moops were in attendance but for the first few rounds it was just A Moop. Once he received reinforcements, prospects improved, but it was a bit too little, too late. However, the Moops did win the beer round. In honor of Tom "Baby" losing the Super Bowl, we asked: What was recorded temperature of the coldest outdoor Super Bowl.
The answer was 39 degrees. The Moops guessed 37 degrees and won the beer.
Congratulations to all, and we hope to see you back next Tuesday!

It was a jam packed evening at Longship Brewery this week as 11 teams, a delightful blend of veteran and newcomers, duked it out for cerebral superiority.
The State of our Union was strong. Rather that watch that, a lot of folks would rather have drinks, fun, and answer a lot of questions that actually matter, in the grand scheme. Life makes more sense, when you are at trivia.
Some notable moments tonight:
Pickle Rick! scored 10 points in two separate rounds and didn't double or nothing in either round. But since they came in first, it was an excellent lesson in restraint.
The Indifferent Penguins successfully doubled or nothing in the final round (which we think) is the first time in a while (if not ever) that this has happened at Longship.
Warrior Wanderers took third place their first night out, which is always quite impressive.
Final standings:
3rd: Warrior Wanderers
2nd: The Moops
1st: Pickle Rick!
We hope to see you all next Tuesday!
