It was superrr close tonight with a few dramatic comebacks for the top teams. Congrats Brown Eye Girls on winning 1st place! They scored successful doubles in Rounds 6 and 7 and finished with 80 points for the win. Mr. Poopybutthole also scored a couple of late successful doubles (also Rounds 6 and 7) and took 2nd place with 78 points. Guess what happened for 3rd place? Of course, The Duke Silver Backing Band ALSO scored successful doubles in Rounds 6 and 7 and finished tied with the Double Js for 3rd place. The tiebreaker point went to The Duke Silver Backing Band and they came in 3rd place with 71 points. I don't think I've ever seen the top three teams all win with successful doubles in the last two rounds. Lemon Mountains (66 points) and Party of One (55 points) were the leaders for most of the night, until all those late doubles. A special congrats to Meseeks and Destroy for winning tonight's FREE Appetizer with their special talent. Their Chinese yoyo performance was amaaazing!

Congrats Mr. Poopybutthole on winning 1st place! They were the first team I met tonight, and said they were the team to beat (not really, but sorta kinda). Mr. Poopybutthole (an awkwardly fun team name to say in a restaurant full of people) scored a successful double in Round 5's "Find the Connection" and that was the difference. They finished with 69 points (hey now) for the win. The Duke Silver Backing Band flirted with first place in the first few rounds. They took 2nd with 57 points. Meseeks and Destroy came in 3rd place with 49 points. Meseeks also won the Free Appetizer with their performance of the Pokemon theme song. Thank you everyone for your patience tonight, especially with our later start (NBA playoffs). Also, several teams asked about Quizmaster Charlotte. She's taking care of a new kitten and will be back soon. Meowww!

Tonight was a fantastic night -- we had old and new faces, and teams that typically have to work really hard to win anything had their efforts finally rewarded.

Got Balls were Doc Holliday experts, but in spite of that, it just wasn't enough to keep them from bringing up the rear. Master Idiots were almost in the same boat, but they at least got a free appetizer/dessert coupon for having the closest guess to the number I was thinking of (Jenny don't change your number; eight six seven five three oh nine!). Brown Eyed Girls/Team Cerritos didn't get to go home with anything from King Trivia, but being close with the TGI Fridays managers has many other perks, I'll bet.

Party of One risked a double down on his old school NBA teams, but was betrayed by the Washington Bullets, which made him a contender for the third place prize. The Zucchinis came back hard after missing out on last week's game, and took home second place (just by one point!) for their sports knowledge.

We were all pleased to see the gold go to Meeseeks and Destroy for kicking ass in general knowledge, coffee connections, and video games (even though they weren't THAT confident on video games to double down; not like it was needed).

Great job, friends!
