When the Quizmaster starts fashionably late, you KNOW we're in for a good time. Not a long time, but definitely a fun time.

Who Let the Hogs Out had the right spirit, but Minnesota'd their way out of twice as many points in Round 1, making it harder for them to catch up. Meeseeks and Destroy also had a good shot to be in the running, but instead upheld the supposed stereotype that Asians don't know ANYTHING about Janis Joplin. But I guess if they uphold the stereotype of doing exceptionally well on the homework I assigned them, they might learn a thing or two about her they really like!

Let The Wookie Win was NOT messing around tonight, and even though they chickened out on a double down on their monsters (being the ONLY team who knew the name of the Where the Wild Things Are boy!), they still received the $10 third place prize. They also got a free appetizer/dessert coupon for having the fastest legible handwriting out of every other team! *Chewbacca victory roar!*

Party of One excelled at his Broadway shows, but his lack of confidence in doubling down (he claimed it was a long shot, but we all knew he knew his stuff) resulted in a one-point lead to Mr. Poopybutthole! Maybe he was thrown off that they weren't Mr. Poopybutthole tonight -- they were Mr. PBH/Brown Behind/Scat Prat/Full Colon/Too Much Taco Bell; they were ANYTHING else to spare the ears of the innocent and humorless.

Today was my cat's 2nd birthday, so it was kind of a bummer I had to leave him so soon to host King Trivia, but seeing some new and familiar faces having a wonderful time didn't make it seem like such a bummer after all! (Yes, I'm aware of how crazy this statement makes me look. Lay thine eyes upon my field of cares, and see that I hath none to reap.)

While most teams did excellent on their general knowledge and Super Mario Kart characters, wine connections and Sterling K. Brown were just about everyone's Kryptonite. Lakers, Team R&R, and Broadway Booties gave it their all, but were lacking in wine obsessions and serious O faces.

Let The Wookie Win, Party of One, Mr. Poopybutthole, and Meeseeks and Destroy nearly tied it all up by Round 5, and it was a serious fight to see who would emerge as top dog. Let The Wookie Win doubled down on their Super Mario Kart players, only to be betrayed by that dastardly Wario. Instead, the only successful double down for that round went to Master Idiots, still barely keeping them out of reach of a TGI Fridays gift card. Party of One, however, SHOULD have trusted their gut and doubled down, but their lack of confidence in the original 8 gave Mr. Poopybutthole a blue shell to successfully slide into the first place lead.

Meeseeks and Destroy also had anything BUT a lousy night -- they took home the third place prize AND a free appetizer/dessert coupon for having the best pickup line: "How much does a polar bear weigh? Enough to break the ice!" (Is it just me, or are G-rated pickup lines so much harder to come by, yet are so much more effective?)

Game Rank Team # Team Name Score Teams Beaten Team Beat Average
1 16661 Mr. Poopybutthole 43 7 1.000
2 17917 Party of One 40 6 0.857
3 18015 Meeseeks and Destroy 39 5 0.714
4 10373 The Master Idiots 37 4 0.571

6 17679 Broadway Booties 14 1 0.214
6 Team R&R 14 1 0.214
8 Lakers 11 0 0.000

It was a busy night for King Trivia, and all my teams get some major kudos! All too often new teams throw in the towel as soon as they don't do so well, but this is the largest team I've had where everyone saw the whole game through! Hope you guys had as much fun as I did!

The game kicked off with a strong start from Party of One, although they were quickly usurped by CDFB by Round 3. We were just as happy to send newcomers Let the Wookie In with the third place prize. Master Idiots and The Shmucks tied it up by Round 5 and tied for fourth place. Eat Me, I'm a Danish has to get their groove back, but you can't lose too much faith in a two-time Tournament of Champions winner!

Master Idiots also made up for last week's craziness by taking home a free appetizer/dessert coupon for having the closest guess as to how many different board configurations are in a game of chess! 256 wasn't very close to the correct number (400), but way closer than the guesses nine other teams had. Kudos to being less idiotic than anticipated!
