Everyone here to play King Trivia tonight was "gin" it to win it! (And some definitely more than others!)
It was a great night for Cardi B fans, as half our teams had it figured out by the 10-point clue. It also was a pretty good night for television watchers, as half our teams knew almost every show with a city name in the title.
The night was extra fantastic for Love You 3000, who went home with a $10 TGIF gift card; The Rhinos, who scored $20 AND a free TGI Fridays appetizer/dessert; and Mr. Poopybutthole, who won $30 in TGI Fridays gift cards to the surprise of no one.
The night was not at all kind to you if you didn't follow the Quizmaster's directions regarding cell phone usage [on five separate occasions], but as long as you had some damn good alcohol in you, you're having fun and learning something new, what does a 60-point difference make anyway? 😉
I thought tonight's questions were gonna be a drag, but so many of you proved me wrong! Minus 20 points to the Quizmaster for not having enough faith in the game!
The Zucchinis wished to double down too late in Round 7, but as they were betrayed by Dennis Rodman, it would appear me being a stickler about no-gives-backsies after it's in my hand made a positive impact after all. Granted, it wasn't enough to push The Zucchinis to a gift card win, but YOU'RE WELCOME ANYWAY.
Let The Wookie Win was barely ahead, dying for hints on their "Dream Team" players. For a minute, I legitimately thought they lost interest in trivia, and sports on the tube was more important. As it turns out, they were desperately just looking for any kind of hint from the basketball games on the screen. You sneaky Wookies!
Meeseeks and Destroy came in fourth, but left with a free appetizer coupon, so no complaints were heard. Mr. Poopybutthole had to settle for third place BY ONE POINT to Dan, because OTHER. PEOPLE. WANT. TO. WIN. TOO. GUYS. Party Of One ended up taking home the gold, all thanks to the "Dream Team" poster he had in his room as a kid. Glad that otherwise insignificant memory paid off!
I wouldn't say I enjoy seeing my King Trivia players struggle with their answers, but I sure do get some damn cute love notes out of it. <3
Everyone was in the mood for some fairly easy questions this week, and your Quizmaster was more than happy to oblige!
90's Kids faced some tricky rounds (damn that Ant-Man!), but they still went home with a free appetizer/dessert coupon for being the ultimate High/Low champions this week!
The country-music-hating (but Angels-baseball-lovin', so they're still cool in my book) Meeseeks and Destroy took home third place winnings after killing it during the California connection and Skittles/Big Five rounds.
BFWBF slaughtered their California connection, Skittles/Big Five, AND Ant-Man rounds, and despite being too chicken to double down on their general knowledge, they still took home the second place prize. A stellar improvement from last week, just as the Quizmaster predicted!
Mr. Poopybutthole's reputation was at stake with a double-down flop on their California connections -- though just about everyone thought the bear in question was polar, so they weren't alone. But with poopy buttholes clenched, they found an opportunity hit back hard with a TV spinoff double down, nearly guaranteeing a solid first-place win.
And remember, everyone, King Trivia fully endorses the shooting of African mammals... so long as it's done with a camera!
