QUIZ RECAP

Love was in the air at TGI Fridays tonight! Or was that the smell of buffalo wing sauce? Either way, it was a delight having you and the ones you love out to partake in a Valentines-themed game of King Trivia!

Four teams were left in the dust tonight, despite them all doing great on their celebrity breakups and cinematic romantic gestures. But the silver lining for Meeseeks and Destroy was that they scored a free appetizer/dessert for guessing EXACTLY how many kilometers our dearly departed Opportunity, the little Mars rover that could, traveled during its 15-year life span. And the silver lining for Como Se Dice "Aardvark"? was that he got to go home with the Quizmaster after the game! GIGGITY! (I mean, he does pay half the rent, so it's not like I could say no. <3)

The fight came down between Party of One, Mr. Poopybutthole, and the Punishers. Party of One needed his celebrity breakup and tragic onstage relationship double-downs (with a little extra help from romantic movies and Henry VIII) to take home the first place prize. But the adulterous Turkish tiebreaker question was what determined the fate of the other two teams... and let's just say, the poopy butthole was indeed punished.

You were all my Valentines tonight -- thanks for making King Trivia at TGI Fridays the best!

QUIZ RECAP

So many new teams came out to play King Trivia, and regardless of how you placed, everyone had a blast!

Meeseeks and Destroy held a solid lead halfway through the game, until teams started getting ballsy with their double downs, but they still got to go home with $10. They may have gotten a little sweaty with Unicorn Paradise, Slytherin, and Mr. Poopybutthole only being 6 points or less behind them!

Party of One pulled ahead in the rankings during our Guess Who? round (with all the credit going to his Toy Story-loving niece!), and took home $20.

Scooby Snack Gang reigned supreme with two consecutive double downs on their bean connection and "C" cities, and they took home $30 and all the bragging rights! This win came as a blow to Mr. Poopybutthole, but in spite of a rough night, they still walked away with a free appetizer/dessert coupon for having the closest guess to the number I was thinking of! (Which was 8008135, by the way, because I was an immature 90s kid with old-school calculators once.)

It was so great having nearly the entire cocktail lounge get so involved. Let's do this again next week, same time, same place. And don't forget to bring your Valentines!

The rain let up just in time for King Trivia! (Or basketball, whatever floats your boat -- we're just happy you stopped into TGI Fridays regardless.)

I Need Money was playing for the first time, and in spite of the loss, they still had a fantastic birthday, so aren't they the real winners anyway? Both I Drink & Know Things and Team Cerritos were back for a second time, and had a little extra help from two lovely gentlemen here for the basketball game!

Party of One was in last week, and came back to challenge his own smarts -- and coming in third place and taking home $10 isn't too shabby (even in spite of two double-down oopsie daisies)! But goodness gracious, the TGI Fridays trivia sharks Eat Me I'm A Danish and Mr. Poopybutthole were out for blood tonight (or was that ketchup?), with Poopybutthole in the lead, then Danish, then a tie, then Danish, then Poopybutthole -- gah, I was sweating from the tension! Ultimately, it was two double downs that saved Mr. Poopybutthole, in spite of them not knowing squat about reality competition series contestants.
