QUIZ RECAP

Yes, friends, we are BACK from the annual month-long holiday hiatus at Golden Road Brewery in Glendale, and it was great to see so many familiar faces last night, flush with excitement and ready to take on a new year's worth of King Trivia challenges.

As I have said many times in these recaps, I do so love a zeitgeisty, of-the-moment, pop-culturally aware team name, and you did not let me down! Oh know, you did knot!

Let's start with Judy Dench's Undercarriage! Okay, maybe we should start AND stop right there. I ain't gonna say 'nuthin' about that, except to say it should have been DAME Judy Dench's Undercarriage, right!? I mean, show some respect to Dame Judy. Especially when discussing her undercarriage.

Hindsight is 2019 demonstrated a fine sense of wordplay (and math skills) with their delightful new year moniker. This team usually plays as Trivial Times at the Golden Road. But they were downright visionary with this clever group sobriquet.

And finally, a tip of the cuticle to last night's drinking round winners, Soleimani-Pedi. In these dark times, it's good to find the funny in every situation, and you did, guys. You really did!

What a way to usher in the holiday season on a chilly autumn night than with a cozy and competitive session of hot trivia action at Golden Road Brewery in Glendale!

The Betty White Privilege brought their "A" game and finished at the top of the winner's circle, with Trashley Wards close on their heels and Tuesday Train Track Strip Club rounding out the top three.

Honorable mention must go to the intrepid threesome of Lauren & Her Support Team, who showed a lot of heart and intensity throughout the night, and landed in a very respectable fourth place as a result. Good job!

Golden Road will now take a short holiday hiatus until early January, but fear not! King Trivia offers many options for Tuesday Night Trivia, and we will return to Golden Road in 2020 with all new editions of the best live trivia quizzes you'll find anywhere in the continental United States! (And parts of Asia!)

On a personal note, thank you all for the warm wishes, hugs, holiday cards and cupcakes you sent my way last night (and throughout the year). I'm thankful for you all too, and look forward to seeing you again soon.

QUIZ RECAP

We've seen many impressive performances by intrepid trivia-loving teams who opt to test their mettle at Golden Road Brewery this year. This week was no exception, and though Ruth Bader Winsberg didn't finish in the top three last night, their 5th Place finish was awfully impressive when you consider the back-to-back double-or-nothing gambits they attempted unsuccessfully to start their night!

That's right! After the first two rounds of regulation quizzing, Ruth Bader Winsberg had a whopping zero points, and still managed to finished with 51, just five points shy of the winner's circle! That's a win in our book, and we salute you, Ruth!
