About Grunions Sports Bar & Grill

Grunions Sports Bar & Grill is a South Bay local landmark. It’s been a local’s favorite spot to watch any major (and even minor) sporting event while eating the best pub food around. It all started in 1974 when Grunions Sports Bar & Grill opened its doors in Manhattan Beach, CA. The mission then, as it is today, was to provide a place where people can go and enjoy great food and drinks while cheering on their favorite sports teams, in a comfortable (and family friendly) environment where everyone is treated like a regular even if it’s their first visit. Whether you live in the area or just visiting, we have what you are looking for…guaranteed!

This game just goes to show that anyone can win it or lose it all based off strategy alone. Thinking about Doubling? Better be confident in all your answers! Daddy went for 3 Doubles, none of them successful. Meanwhile, We're Fine and Quiztopher Walken had successful Double attempts, making all the difference. After many weeks of chasing the top 3, We're Fine not only landed in the top 3 but took home the gold! Congrats our top 3 teams!

I have to say, my favorite part of this night was when I offered 2 bonus points to any of the teams that could correctly guess the Connection in Round 5's "Find The Connection" after only hearing the first question. I didn't tell any team if they were right or wrong, but they were given the opportunity to for a no-risk reward if they were correct. Wouldn't you know it, ONE team actually guessed the connection based off that one clue! Unfortunately that team ended up getting ZERO points for the round because of an unsuccessful Double attempt. I'm looking at you, Daddy. You could have won it all if it weren't for those 2 failed Double attempts.... Blame it on the sports questions!

Well this has grown to be quite the trivia event! Two new teams came out of left field and took the top two positions - but not without a little rumble. Both Plush Monkey and We're Late tied for first place, but it was sports trivia tiebreaker that let the latter take home the top prize! Kudos to Quiztopher Walken on the third place position. The final two rounds are where it mattered most - half the teams fell apart in their Double attempts, while others capitalized on the opportunity and successfully Doubled their points. But the real event of the night was the physical challenge for the Drinking Round... Who ever thought a silly bottle-flipping trend from years passed would be so popular. And thanks to all the good sports who played our early-Easter-esque games despite how silly they were! It was a ton of fun having so many new people - hope to see you next week!
