You guys had me scared for a bit! I thought you may have forgotten it was Tuesday due to the 3 day weekend. But, just before the game started we had a huge influx of players and the game was ON!
Tonight's drinking round was an old classic, "Name That Tune" where I played snippets of songs like "Crazy On You" by Heart, "Big Poppa" by Notorious B.I.G. & "She's a Rainbow" by The Rolling Stones, amongst others. Teams got a point for both the song name & artist. Our now drunk winners weren't sure if all that glitters is gold, What's Precious, Bitch?
We had to go to a tie breaker to determine who got 2nd & 3rd place! It was a Greek Goddess against a man with no name as Artemis & Guess Who? Went head to head! Victoria, from team Artemis came out on top! Despite being the last of her team to stick it out to the end!
As many of my regular teams know, I like to recycle. So, I give 2 bonus points to teams that return their pen at the end of the game. Last week, these guys ended up in a tie for 3rd because they didn't get those precious points. This week, they made sure it would not be forgotten... Remember the Pen, Jack! Took home 1st place! Not that they actually needed it this time, with a whopping 80 points thanks to 3 rounds with a perfect "double or nothing!"

What a game tonight with King Trivia! Puppets and witches and coffee, OH MY! What a fun crowd at the White Harte! Elves and mermaids and rapists, OH Wha-Whaaaat?
We had a tie for 3rd place tonight! Between a team who's now official theme song is "Everything is awesome! Everything is cool when you're part of a team. Everything is awesome! Let's help these hobbits dispose of a ring!" Lego Legolas! Their opponent: A man who's diabolical dreams were dashed when he was the only one to show up. Two Roophies, No Chaser! The tie breaker went to Two Roophies! In the future a gift certificate and... charm? Will have to suffice.*
Our second place team also won tonight's "Picture Puzzles" drinking round where teams had to identify the phrases from the picture combinations. I was eavesdropping quite a bit on this team and I'm not sure if they were writing a screenplay and she's a hardcore method actor, or if she has some kind of fetish I haven't heard of. But what I know for sure is Liz is the Mermaid!
All the cobras in the world wouldn't stand a chance against tonight's first place winning team of Ricky Ticky Taffy's! The Fighting Mongooses pulled ahead in round 3 with a perfect double or nothing and kept that lead going!

*In no way, shape or form do I, King Trivia or the White Harte condone the use of rohypnol, or making accusations against our patrons. We love you all and want you to be safe. I'm giving Tim shit because he's a friend of mine. See pictured him "pretending"(as he claims) to fall at my wedding.

Oh it was good to be back at The White Harte! I was gone for 2 weeks, in which I got married and went on my honeymoon! Sorry ladies, I'm officially off the market (not that anyone ever tried.) I want to give a shout out and huge thank you to Quizmaster Joel Goodman for wrangling these White Harte rascals while I was away. You sir, are indeed a Good man... (Ouch, sometimes my bad jokes make even me cringe. Drink up people!)
For tonight's drinking round we played "Last is First" where I picked a category (in this case musical bands or artists) and team representatives had to choose something within the category that began with the last letter of the previous person's answer. before we began Ryan Glass of The Fighting Mongooses asked if composers counted... I thought it an odd question, but sure why not right? Well, apparently Mr. Glass has an extensive knowledge of classical composers, especially beginning with the letter S which were the majority of his chances. When presented with The Misfits, his response was Stravinsky. Making it very hard for his opponents since Yes and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs had already been said. Kudos Ryan, kudos!
In 3rd place tonight, Cowboys and Indians! They started off extremely strong with perfect scores in the first 2 rounds, but they didn't cause their competitors to "Run to the Hills" ... (it's an Iron Maiden joke, youtube it.)
In 2nd place, was another team with a strong start, including a perfect double in round 2! My first joke about their name didn't land because I'm apparently the only one hipster enough to watch Portlandia... "was is beets?" Anyway, in 2nd place, Beet Root! Wait, the beet is the root... uh... I am Groot!
Tonight's champions! Also with a perfect double in round 2 and leading the pack with just a few points throughout the majority of the game, the team that left their boo's behind for booze...and the big win! White Harte Before Sweethearts!
