About Hyperion Public - Silver Lake

We are your local neighborhood restaurant and bar where everyone is welcome hence the word "Public" in our name. Our restaurant has a rough luxe decor serving quality food and cocktails, a mix of craft and traditional beers, along with a good selection of wines, in a communal atmosphere. Hidden in the back of the restaurant is our upstairs bar and lounge also serving food and cocktails, that has a jukebox, dartboard, piano, mic, and TVs for sports (Sunday NFL Ticket).

Wow wow wow wow what a night at Hyperion Public on Monday! Fifth Place or Bust? More like First Place and effin' winning! Due to some critical errors made by other teams and some cautious but cool playing by them, FPOB sailed into first by a single point, edging out Periodic Table Dancers by a nose. By a hair. By a nose hair. Did I mention that they won the drinking round too? What can't they do? Will I ever stop speaking in questions? Does anyone even read these? What am I doing here? Is this an existential crisis? Did you ever see that scene in Scanners when that dude's head blew up?

Well, they thought they could sneak under the radar. A little cloak and dagger was afoot at Hyperion Public. Was it to give other players a false sense of confidence? Was it to trick enemy teams into making big doubles they couldn't back? Whatever the motive, it worked and worked in a big way. Fact Hunt aka PhDeez Nuts aka Little Lebowski's Urban Achievers pulled a come-from-behind win that was something from World Series legend. Three Doubles in the last three rounds took them from middle of the pack to first, shooting ahead of larger team Off the Record, who had a steady lead all night. I ripped off the mask Scooby Doo style after round 5, revealing their true identities to the rest of the bar, who promptly booed them, as is their right. The strategy of hiding in plain sight worked, though, because they are the ones who took home that first place prize. They got away with it, even in spite of those meddling kids.

Well well well, what a night at Hyperion Public on Monday! Ten teams showed up in full force to dominate each other, but of course, of course, PhDeez Nuts took home the gold. AND the drinking round, which is just rubbing salt in the wounds. The real battle was for second place between Dead Weight and Trash Dogs, with Dead Weight barely nudging them out. Real shoutout goes to Tom Cruise's Daddy Issues for unsuccessfully doubling down on four out of seven rounds. They didn't win, but man was it funny!
