About Hyperion Public - Silver Lake

We are your local neighborhood restaurant and bar where everyone is welcome hence the word "Public" in our name. Our restaurant has a rough luxe decor serving quality food and cocktails, a mix of craft and traditional beers, along with a good selection of wines, in a communal atmosphere. Hidden in the back of the restaurant is our upstairs bar and lounge also serving food and cocktails, that has a jukebox, dartboard, piano, mic, and TVs for sports (Sunday NFL Ticket).

It was a hot night at Hyperion Public as the teams competed in sweltering conditions for the grand trivia prize. Even despite a broken air conditioner, the players pulled out all the stops to show who really was the boss. Tom Cruise's Daddy Issues took an early lead and held on to it, smashing everyone with a solid 85. Dead Weight was not far behind, however, and took a confident second. Shoutout to Ship of Fools who was up to date on their California government and history (and also better at rock, paper scissors) and won the drinking round. Ultimately, the team of the night was My Name is Max and I'm a Republican, who made me say that revolting sentence every round. True trolls, you are.

I mean, what with the Dodgers losing the World Series and all, I'd say the night was surprisingly more upbeat than I thought it would be. It was The Artist Currently Known as Dead Weight that did their best Red Sox imitation, and stomped the competition into the dirt. My name is Max and I had money on the Red Sox, next round's on me made me say that every single round, and every single round it elicited a chuckle out of someone in the house. They scored a sweeping silver and soared above the rest. As for the drinking round, well, they took that too. It was a spelling bee and I thought I could trick one of them with the word cheongsam, but alas, their knowledge of Chinese silks was too great.

Virtually every team had a shot at first place last night at Hyperion Public. Back and forth, changing hands, first place seemed to jump from team to team like wildfire. In the end, it was Ship of Fools with a massive boost from a round 7 double that took home the gold. Just behind them with the same play was Eight More Days Til Halloween, who seemed more to care that it was just eight more days til Halloween than their actual victory. The drinking round was swooped by a late entry of Vishnu Were Here, stealing it just out of the jaws of The Spicy Bois. We can't all be winners gang.
