About Hyperion Public - Silver Lake

We are your local neighborhood restaurant and bar where everyone is welcome hence the word "Public" in our name. Our restaurant has a rough luxe decor serving quality food and cocktails, a mix of craft and traditional beers, along with a good selection of wines, in a communal atmosphere. Hidden in the back of the restaurant is our upstairs bar and lounge also serving food and cocktails, that has a jukebox, dartboard, piano, mic, and TVs for sports (Sunday NFL Ticket).

It was a craaaaaazy night at Hyperion Public for trivia on Monday.  After an exceptionally close tie-breaker, Seize the D emerged as the winner over Night of the Living Dead Weight.  King Diva took the drinking round, in what I guess was a harder set of questions than I thought them to be.  But everyone was fine because I passed out candy and who doesn't like Sour Patch Kids?  Like for real, those are the best.

The energy was electric at Hyperion Public.  Sixteen teams stayed the entire night to battle it out for top prize at the bar last night.  A true underdog story unfolded as the night went on, as We're Only Here for the Fries - who has placed last several nights - had managed to produce successful double downs in not one, not two, but three rounds including Round 7.  It took some extra reinforcements, but they finally took that trophy home.  Not be outdone, perennial favorites Little Lebowski's Urban Achievers scooted right into second, being the only team to get a full ten points on Round 4.

Really the star of the night was Hyperion Public's Monday night server Brittani, who on a rare night off had joined the Lebowski's team in competition.  Apparently Bible knowledge is her forte, and after turning in her doubled down Round 7 answer within 20 seconds of asking the question, she got up on the mic and with the speed, accuracy, and delivery of Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man, she rattled off every single book of the Old and New Testaments.  The crowd looked on in the kind of awe and fear reserved for Old Testament God as they marveled at this obscure and yet impressive display of trivia.  Cheers to Brit! Or should I say, amen?

It was a great night for trivia at Hyperion Public as so many teams vied for the golden goose!  It was literally everything Literally Everything could do to keep the other teams from taking their lead, but in the end they held strong.  In the complete opposite corner of the bar, Little Lebowski's were plotting their victory and just barely managed to sneak into second with a clutch double down.  Schroedinger's Traveling Wilbury took the drinking round and all in all, it was a great night!
