About Hyperion Public - Silver Lake

We are your local neighborhood restaurant and bar where everyone is welcome hence the word "Public" in our name. Our restaurant has a rough luxe decor serving quality food and cocktails, a mix of craft and traditional beers, along with a good selection of wines, in a communal atmosphere. Hidden in the back of the restaurant is our upstairs bar and lounge also serving food and cocktails, that has a jukebox, dartboard, piano, mic, and TVs for sports (Sunday NFL Ticket).

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes you play four rounds and go home early because you screw up every double down you play. That's just the nature of trivia, really. And no one understands that better than Seize the D, who took home the first place prize on Monday night. Seize the D has been at both the bottom and top, so they've seen all sides of this trivia coin and they know how to flip it. It was Ancient Astronaut Theorists (just the Lebowski's in disguise) who sneaked up from behind for a quick second place finish. But I think Pringles took the cake with their drinking round win. They knew more songs about America than any other team, making them the most patriotic team in the bar. And therefore, the winners! Congratulations, Pringles! You did it for America!

If Ronaldo, Messi, and Neymar all had a child that competed to win the World Cup of Trivia, that child would not have done as well as our teams did on Monday at Hyperion Public. Because Science had a massive round 7 double that resulted in them being catapulted from fourth to first. And Muffy from Bananas Foster played all by herself, and with a huge round 6 double she handily took second single-handedly. Oh, and did I mention she nailed the drinking round, too? These people are damn geniuses and they've got the guts to go all the way to the goal!

Monday night at Hyperion Public saw the victory of newcomers Shite+Market (who very much hate Night+Market for reasons that are far too long to disclose here) over perennial favorites Little Lebowski's Urban Achievers. LLUA had been quietly playing the waiting game and managed to sneak into second in round 6, but Shite+Market had a very early and confident lead from the beginning. The Shane Falcos were feeling the music as they took the drinking round by a single point, and I was more than impressed by 213-204-0419 Call me, a table full of Brits, who got 6 out of 8 right on the Presidents round, and even put a player's actual phone number as their team name. Feel free to text him, it's his real number. Go on, try it!
