About Hyperion Public - Silver Lake

We are your local neighborhood restaurant and bar where everyone is welcome hence the word "Public" in our name. Our restaurant has a rough luxe decor serving quality food and cocktails, a mix of craft and traditional beers, along with a good selection of wines, in a communal atmosphere. Hidden in the back of the restaurant is our upstairs bar and lounge also serving food and cocktails, that has a jukebox, dartboard, piano, mic, and TVs for sports (Sunday NFL Ticket).

No crazy rain is going to stop the denizens of Hyperion Public from coming out and enjoying their trivia. The roads might be washed away, but their love of showing off useless facts has stood the battering weather, and the people returned in droves to participate.

The lead shifted back and forth throughout the night, but in the end it was Fifth Place or Bust who busted out of fifth and into first with two solid doubles in a row. Just behind them and the winners of a tie-breaker was Boner Tambourine (they had neither boners nor tambourines) who edged out Ship of Fools by a narrow margin. The drinking round was stolen by Trivia Newton John and their impressive Disney know-how.

But the real hero of the night was once again my assistant Madeline, who was my official King Trivia Ring Girl(TM). For each round, she walked around the bar with the number held high, so that the teams participating knew just where we were, and each time she was met with thunderous applause. And then she was there to present the winning teams with their plunder. I couldn't have done it without Madeline - and she doesn't even turn eight for another month!

Another night of trivia at Hyperion Public on Monday went off without a hitch. These thirteen teams came to show off their big ass brains, but only Solemn Bellydancers had the biggest brain. Although Allagash Pants were close behind, they could not compete with their rivals that night. Dead Weight showcased their drinking round prowess, securing a free round of beverages for themselves, and side glances from the surrounding tables. All in all, a fun night!
