Another bone-crunching comptition at Hyperion Public on Monday night! Bananas Foster, who had not been in for some time, showed up and completed dominated the other teams. Like really, truly beat them to a bloody pulp. John & Kate Plus Dead Weight put up a valiant fight for second, as so many teams were clamoring for silver. And who took the drinking round? Why, if you were guessing Bananas Foster, you'd be right! And to show their mercy, they donated the round to the team with the lowest score in the drinking round, DALE! But the boys weren't complaining, as a free drink is a free drink. Join us next week as we see who will emerge the winner in Hyperion Hoedown and Executive Corporate Meeting and Competition!

QUIZ RECAP

The heat of competition was cranked up to 90 as 10 teams converged on Hyperion Public to duke it out for number one trivia team! Little Lebowski's took an early lead, but soon dropped out of first to let their sometime rivals Quiztopher Guess soar ahead in the final two rounds. But they redeemed themselves with a non-music, non-chorus rendition of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" that won them the drinking round. Robin's performance was so good, that her competitor Sam, from Seize the D, walked away before she could even get up to the mic. Now THAT is assuredness. The song for next week? Barenaked Ladies "One Week"!

Alright, perhaps I spoke just a bit too soon. Even the wise and proud like myself can sometimes admit to being wrong, on occasion. 2 weeks past, Little Lebowski's Urban Achievers suffered a bone-shattering, spine-shivering defeat, placing last amongst all teams competing. Since that devastating loss, at some point they retreated to their lair to recharge their evil energy and devise a new attack strategy. And attack they did, with gusto, as they eviscerated every team that stood in their way. They gutted DALE! like a week old fish. They snuck behind 6 Dope Queens and garroted them and then left the cannolis. They quietly led Just Stop, John Mayer to a quiet, remote place, and once they were all alone, they made JSJM dig their own shallow grave, kneel beside it, and put two into the back of their heads execution style. So really, lesson learned - don't mess with Lebowskis.

On a completely unrelated note, we had an absolutely mind-blowing drinking round last night. For the last two weeks I've told the teams that any one who could successfully sing all the lyrics to REM's "The End of the World" with no choruses and no backing track, would automatically win the drinking round for their team. This was like 80% a joke, as I truly didn't think anyone would really waste their valuable human time on Earth doing something so truly useless, but boy was I wrong! Eden from Dead Weight Goes West got up in front of the whole bar and made an ass out of me and Michael Stipe, with a word-perfect rendition of the song. The took the drinking round no contest, and earned a modicum of respect from me, and begrudgingly the other patrons. So, next week? Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire."
