About Hyperion Public - Silver Lake

We are your local neighborhood restaurant and bar where everyone is welcome hence the word "Public" in our name. Our restaurant has a rough luxe decor serving quality food and cocktails, a mix of craft and traditional beers, along with a good selection of wines, in a communal atmosphere. Hidden in the back of the restaurant is our upstairs bar and lounge also serving food and cocktails, that has a jukebox, dartboard, piano, mic, and TVs for sports (Sunday NFL Ticket).

Well folks, they've done it again.  And every time they do, the other regulars erupt into frustrated groans.  And every time they do, it just further fans the flames of fiery competition in the hearts of the Little Lebowski's.  They're a dominating team, no doubt about it.  Is there some David out there to the Goliath that is the Urban Achievers?  Sure, Doug can handily take the drinking round, and Dr. Who's a What Now can be right behind them in second place.  But does there exist a team to single-handedly and solidly smash the certainty of Lebowski's constant state of victory?  I guess we'll just have to wait until next week to find out...

To the tune of the Baby Driver soundtrack did the teams compete tonight, causing their hearts to pound and their adrenaline to race until the answers come flying out at a hundred miles per hour.

Or at least that's how I like to imagine it anyway.

Little Lebowski's were able to surmount their long-time rivals Heavy Lumber and climb back into first.  But no one could stop The Showponies and their deep knowledge of TV theme songs from taking the drinking round.  It's like this every Monday at Hyperion Public!

Overheard at Hyperion Public this week:
"It's July fourth! Yank my doodle - it's a dandy!!"

To the surprise of NO ONE, the celebrative holiday spirit was in full view this week at Hyperion Public in Silverlake. The evening was notable for the infusion of ducks in the house. Initially, we thought team Quack, Quack, Quack would face a formidable challenge from team Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack, but while Quack x 3 finished in a strong third place with 78 points, Quack x 5 fowled out with a disappointing 27 points.

The ducky quintet didn't seem down about it, though. Perhaps their performance was impacted by the distraction of the Duck, Duck, Goose game. I guess we'll never know for sure. But perhaps Rodney Dangerfield can explain it. 

In any case, we congratulate this week's winners, One Bride for Seven Brothers (1st place!) and Yer A Quizard Harry, who finished a strong second. Happy 4th of July, everybody. Thanks for playing. Don't step on any ducks.
