About Hyperion Public - Silver Lake

We are your local neighborhood restaurant and bar where everyone is welcome hence the word "Public" in our name. Our restaurant has a rough luxe decor serving quality food and cocktails, a mix of craft and traditional beers, along with a good selection of wines, in a communal atmosphere. Hidden in the back of the restaurant is our upstairs bar and lounge also serving food and cocktails, that has a jukebox, dartboard, piano, mic, and TVs for sports (Sunday NFL Ticket).

A very fine turnout on Monday night at Hyperion Public (and that's to be expected) of very fine people showing off their mostly fine trivia skills! Backyard Yurt coughed up their first win ever after clocking almost two years of fairly steady play. They were almost caught by LLUA who was hiding in the tall grass behind them, and lost by just a single point. That same winning team also won the drinking round, really rubbing salt in that wound. But the real shoutout goes to Courtney from Bumble, who bought a bunch of drinks and apps for people in the bar, as well as giving me that sweet cap pictured above. It's quite a step up from my $5.99 car wash hat that I was wearing at the time.

So many teams came to display their trivia prowess on Monday night, and yet only one team emerged the victor. Wife Guys had an impressive showing of trivia scoring, really playing the game smartly and gambling where it mattered. LLUA is Hiding played as sneakily as they usually do, laying in wait until they were ready to pounce. Trash Dogs took the drinking round with a tie-breaker after scoring an amazing 14/15 right. A hearty congrats to all the winners!

Wow wow wow, what a night! I got to celebrate my birthday doing what I love with people I deeply care about, so I'd consider that alone to make it a pretty successful night of trivia. So many people brought a loving and fun energy, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. So I didn't mind as much when people started booing once it was announced that Little Lebowski's Urban Achievers were the winners coming back after their two week hiatus. If anything, it adds to the charm that are the trivia players at Hyperion Public. They're passionate and it's why I love them.
