QUIZ RECAP

Another busy night of King Trivia at Pickwick's Pub in Woodland Hills on Wednesday night! This time, 14 teams came to see whose brain was the biggest!

For the drinking round, in the spirit of Avengers Infinity War, teams had to come up with their best worst superhero, complete with worst superhero name, worst superhero powers, and a sketch of the worst superhero ever. A lot of creative submissions were turned in but Diversity Poster killed it with their submission of Mr. Hotdog, a superhero with the power to beat Kobayashi in a Hot Dog eating contest! Their sketch of the superhero was far and away the best sketch of the night and they won the drinking round and a round of shots for their team!

Annnnnnnnndddd.... They also won 2nd place taking home a $20 gift certificate after scoring 66 points! They remained among the top 3 all night long! Way to go Diversity Poster! Way to kill it!

Coming in at 3rd place, scoring 54 points was Alternative Facts, who took 3rd place after round 5 and took home a $10 gift certificate! Sweet!

And that just leaves us with 1st place, and who else could take home a $30 gift certificate with 81 points, but our resident dominating team, the Mighty Mighty Puffins! Teams come from all around to take them down, and it's tough to do, but sometimes other teams succeed. But not this Wednesday night! They dominated all night starting with a successful double in Rounds 1 and 2! They were one point off the lead in rounds 3 and 4, but they came right back with another successful double in Round 5 to keep the lead for the rest of the night! Can you beat the Mighty Mighty Puffins?

QUIZ RECAP

What's that you say? Jonesing for another recap of Wednesday night's King Trivia at Pickwick's Pub in Woodland Hills are you? Waiting for more than a day have you? Well wait no more! Here it comes for your eyes' splendor!

It was a packed pub on Wednesday night as both rooms of Pickwick's Pub were packed full with 17 teams vying for the top 3 spots of the night to win gift certificates back to their favorite bar, and a round of shots to enjoy during the game!

For the drinking round, each team had to send up a player to play a game of quarters. Each team member had 4 chances to get their quarters in either the closest shot glass worth 1 point, the larger glass behind it for 2 points, or the pint glass behind that for 3 points! Taking the drinking round with 5 points were The Good Boys who had a blast and enjoyed a free round of shots!

Coming in third place were the two team member team of The Flatulent Dandys! They beat out 14 other teams to win the $10 gift certificate back to the bar! They scored 67 points and successfully doubled down in the 6th and 7th rounds to get the 3rd place prize! Way to swing in in the later rounds you two!

Coming in second place was a very valiant effort by Diversity Poster who scored 83 points! They had the lead for the first 3 rounds, but in the 4th round, they got the 8 point clue right, but fell behind the Women Warriors by one point when they got it right on the 10 point clue! They would stay one point behind the Women Warriors the rest of the night!

And congratulations to the Women Warriors who scored 84 points to hold on to the first place spot by one point after taking that one point lead from Diversity Poster in Round 4. Both teams doubled successfully on rounds 5, 6, and 7! Impressive, most impressive!

QUIZ RECAP

Well, quizmaster Danny was back at it again Wednesday night to host King Trivia at Pickwick's Pub after having taken a 10 day vacation to Denver, Austin, and San Antonio, just to name a few! Danny gave a few of his highlights from his trip, including going to the Denver Mint, going to both Colorado's and Texas's state capitol buildings, seeing the Foo Fighters in Austin and getting Dave Grohl's guitar pick from "Kiss Guy" at the concert last weekend!

And boy, did all the teams make me feel the love by telling me how much you missed me! You really know how to inflate a quizmaster's ego! Although, the praises did come before the game started, so maybe it was a bunch of kiss-assery to make me give each team more points? Well, it worked! 😉

7 teams showed up to compete for 3 prizes and a round of shots shots shots shots shots!

For the drinking round, if you were wondering what those funny pictures are up there, well they were submissions from some of the teams for best photo! Which one do you think won? Well, I'll keep you guessing as you which photo it was, but I will tell you Hair is Not an Option won the round of shots! Way to go!

Coming in 3rd place were the Mighty Mighty Puffins after leading the game through 5 rounds of play! They were passed in round 6 after only being able to get 8 of the 10 right on the matching round where teams had to match the signature food dish with the restaurant that serves it. But they still scored a whopping 52 points and a $10 gift certificate! Sweet job!

Coming in second after passing the Puffins to take the lead on Round 6, was Alternative Facts! Also having a strong game, AF scored 59 points! However they were surpassed for the lead in the final round of play. But not to worry, they still took home a $20 gift certificate! Not a bad night's work!

That only leaves 1st place. That honor went to Hanky Panky who took the lead from Alternative Facts in the very last round after guessing the most Vice Presidents whose last name ended in either the letter "E" or "Y". Impressive, very impressive! Enjoy your $30 gift certificate!
