QUIZ RECAP

Idle Hour was PACKED on this trivia Tuesday. The players came to play and there was great competition the entire night. 
The team, Thomas?! No!, won the drinking round by guessing the closest price for the most expensive bottle of Champagne sold at retail price.
Ultimately, the winning team was Quizzie McGuire and they took home a sweet gift  certificate.

We’re getting that Fall Feeling over at Idle Hour. Cool temperatures need to be met with some spicy hot trivia, and there’s nothing better than a heaping spoonful of KING TRIVIA!

This was a night of domination, determination, and dedication. While we had many veteran teams arriving, one new group saw the chance to make history…and they almost succeeded. 

See, this QM has witnessed a few perfect games. They are few and far between, and generally require a bit of extra scrutiny to ensure fair play. In this instance, we had to step back in awe as a group of unlikely heroes saw the chance to go for a flawless victory. 

Everyone on Mute arrived with fantasy leagues to draft and the tennis finals on their phone. But when they heard it was trivia time, they dropped everything and went to work. It was a wild display of deductive reasoning, bargaining, and outright guesswork. Bernie Maximus and Quizzie McGuire dominated in early rounds, but soon this small team of plucky quizzers rose through the ranks. 

Our drinking round was a celebration of pizza, so we played the Toppings Game with our teams. After 6 rounds and some intense back and forth, Charming NPC Ladies won the free shots.  

In the final rounds, Mute put on a clinic…but their confidence waned. They let a few 10/10 rounds go undoubled, and second-guessed their guess who. It was a few stumbles in an otherwise incredible performance, and it has left them with the taste for victory.

90S MOVIES THEMED EVENT AT IDLE HOUR RECAP

Now that's what I call 90's trivia! 16 teams arrived at our hallowed arena for seven rounds of the most intense question and answer game this side of the Berlin Wall. With major prizes on the line (and some sweet jams courtesy of DJ Pandora) we got right down to quizness. 

While this was an excellent battle of wits between some amazing teams, it was also a display of dominance by one group in particular: 🎶Rolling with the Homies 🎶

While they took a moment to establish themselves on the leaderboard, once in the top spot they never let off the gas. It was...well, much like the movie Speed. If their score dropped below first place...they would SPLODE!

Meanwhile, in second and third, the infamous Guardians of Trivia and Film Academy battled back and forth for the silver medal. 

For our Drinking Round, we played a little "Don't Forget the Lyrics" with Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." We knocked out the entire board on the VERY FIRST WORD...except for our winners, Poops I Did It Again.
