There are few things better than King Trivia at Idle Hour. A child’s laughter, that first sip of hot cocoa on a cold day, defeating your enemies and seeing them driven before you. But little else compares to the thunderous emotions of 33 teams venturing forward toward trivial victory.
The first half of our infamous show began with a massive tie. These were veteran teams setting themselves up for a sweep, but victory would not be so easily obtained. Bernie Maximus managed to lock in a solid lead in the third, but they were soon followed closely by Orgies and Oracles.
For our drinking round, we honored the hallowed National Temperance Day by discussing the most powerful spirits and beers in the world. Peaches took the free shots with a narrow win in sudden death.
In the final rounds of the night, Bernie dropped back as Montana and Furious Jumpers launched a salvo of risky doubles to rise into the top seats.
Our winners for the night were Montana, Furious Jumpers, and Orgies and Oracles.

What a wonderful night for some trivia! QM Adam returned to the barrel-shaped bastion of good food and better questions as NoHo’s favorite showed reignited for the Fall season (now that a fair contract had been signed for the WGA).
With 26 teams and eager quizzers champing at the bit for some fun, the show began.
The first half of the game was dominated by Three Cool Boys as they settled into an early lead in Round 3, followed only a few points behind by Algorithm & Blues. As the half carried on, Double Stuff Oreos emerged as a contender for third, but the top spots seemed to be locked in. But Fate had yet to play its hand.
During our drinking round, we payed homage to a legendary character from the recent WGA strike: AMPTP’s Carol Lombardini. We asked our teams to decide her favorite order from the Cheesecake Factory (if you don’t get it, Google it). Our winner, with “eggsploitation benedict,” was 720 of Emotions!
In the latter half of the game, things took a sudden turn. Algorithm took a sudden lead, but it was a different leap that caught this QM’s attention. Team after team suddenly got up and headed for the exit…despite being in a leading position. No matter the cries of “you’re leaving money on the table,” trivia titans vacated the premises and left their earnings behind.
Our winners for the night were Algorithm & Blues, Three Cool Boys, and Sublime (though the 3rd place prize was awarded to Kingbeez)
