QUIZ RECAP

Holy cow! Over one hundred people came back from Thanksgiving with only one thought on their minds: Dominate in King Trivia! 25 teams arrived in our barrel-shaped bar to throw down in a contest of champions, bringign with them all the fire and hunger you'd expect for a Tuedsay night NoHo crowd. 

With newbies and veterans champing at the bit to get started, this QM readied a salvo of trivial missiles and set to work giving these folks the show they deserved. 

Round One went down easy, with eight teams earning perfect scores. Soon, however, it became anyone's game. The leaderboard shifted faster than the gears in a Fast and Furious film. By the end of Round Four, our top ten were mere points apart. 

As this was the Third Night of Chanukah, we decided to hold a good ol' fashioned Dreidel-Off! Every team played in a bracket, whittling down the competition until only 5 remained. It was a test of endurance, with the longest spin winning the free shots! In the end, with an amazing score of 12.44 seconds, Quiz Kid Donnie Smith took home the drinks and accolades. 

Our second half separated the teams even more, with a few ill-advised doubles sending some fresh-faced teams toward the back of the pack. By the time we reached Round Seven, CHICKEN NUGGETS and Bean Brigade seemed destined for victory. But it's not over until it's over. 

Round Seven took everyone by surpise, and it came down to a tie-breaker and a single point of victory. Buttery Smooth Brains eked out a narrow lead over Cul De Sac Crew, and CHICKEN NUGGETS took the top spot from Danger Nights Crew (who were warned twice about Sloppy Steaks). 

You just had to be there to feel that energy...so don't miss out next time! King Trivia goes down every Tuesday night at 8PM, and we can't wait to see you. 

QUIZ RECAP

Tonight's trivia was a blast! We had 17 teams with not an open seat in the house! With team names like The Christian Mingles, Midnight Powerwalk and Law School Dropouts, how could you not have a fun time?!

Teams did an amazing job tonight - a very dedicated and knowledgable group! The knots round turned out to be a strong area for most teams - woo! I wish I knew knot education like the teams did tonight!

The connection round was a toughie for most, but the teams who figured out the bridges connection were feeling great after successfully discovering the common theme.

The drinking round was thoroughly entertaining when the underdogs (The Christian Mingles) came out on top and were awarded tequila shots! Congrats!

I was able to mingle with a lot of the teams tonight - which I love! Tons of fun locals and some out of towners. And let's not forget the cute pups that made an appearance - Bunny and Shady!

Shoutout to the two teams from Texas (my home state!) I love finding fellow Texans in California.

Overall, it was a great night of people, trivia and music! The Idol Hour staff was incredible - per usual! 🙂 

QUIZ RECAP

Another amazing night at Idle Hour in the bag. If you decided to stay home this Tuesday, you made a wild mistake. The drinks were flying and appetizers were sizzling as 20 teams arrived to duke it out, trivia style. We had seven rounds to sort out our differences, and these folks came to play. 

In the early rounds, It's Quizness Time set themselves apart with some careful double downs. They weren't alone. All Too Unwell and Team Turpentine saw the prize at the end of the tunnel and drove hard for victory. Yet there could only be one, and so the games continued. 

During Round 4, some eager beavers saw their dreams shatter as they leapt at answers that, sadly, just didn't connect with the actual answer. Might Leave Early were tempted to live up to their name, but they managed to hold on a little longer (they had a baby at home and a babysitter ready to snatch some overtime). 

Our drinking round was epic, paying homage to National Butter Day. Teams had to guess neither the weight nor height of the world's largest butter sculpture, but rather...the calorie count! All Too Unwell came the closest and won the free drinks!

As we sprinted toward the finish, the leaderboard become a game of musical chairs. By Round 7, almost ten teams were within spitting distance of one another! It all came down to Space Jam knowledge. 

In the end, Marvin the Martian sent teams packing (he was the ref, not on the Tune Squad), and suddenly we had a real nailbiter. One team approached this QM, sadly leaving early, and wanted to know if they had even scored well. After examining their answers, we told them they might want to stick around. 

At the buzzer, we saw Quizness Time snatch the top spot, with Gonzo's Hot Chicken Wife and Snark Squad rounding out the leader board. 

If you're going anywhere else on Tuesday, you're missing the best trivia in the Valley. We'll see you at 8PM next time!
