QUIZ RECAP

Oh the weather outside was…80. And the crowds were hot and lazy. But since they’ve no place to go…trivia show, trivia show, trivia show! It’s King Trivia time here at Idle Hour in NoHo, and 19 teams were itching to go. With the delicious food and seasonal drinks flowing, we got right down to quizness!

Things opened with an outrageous play as 60% of our teams doubled down for a spot at the top! For many, it would be their only time in first place. For others, it was a portent of greatness to come. 

We’re the Problems managed to sneak into a lead for the first half of the show, but their success only fueled the fires of competition. 

For our Drinking Round, we celebrated Krampusnaucht with a special quiz. Bernie Maximus had the holiday spirit on lock and took home the free shots (for legal reasons, we should clarify that these shots were consumed on the premises).

The final rounds came down to single digit spreads as our teams through caution to the wind and doubled early and often. With a final tie-breaker (and a nail-biter) we crowned our winners.  

Our winners for the night were It’s Quizness Time, We’re the Problem it’s Us, and Kingbeez!

QUIZ RECAP

Don’t let those post Thanksgiving blues knock you down. You might have missed out on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and whatever the heck people were up to on Saturday, but Tuesday night is always a great night…for trivia! That’s right, it’s time for the best show in all of NoHo: King Trivia at Idle Hour!

22 teams arrived in our hallowed hall of historical knowledge (a smaller crowd than we usually see, but people are still getting home from the holidays).

We got things started off slowly with a tie at the top of Round 1. Quizness Time and Good Question had the right stuff to double down, but could they hold onto the lead? As it turns out…one of them could! Good Question stepped ahead with a small lead in Round 2, hoping to hang on through the rest of the game. 

Not so fast! Round 3 ended up going top #ChargeOn, and Round 4 switched over to Bernie Maximus and Grandma’s Ghost!

For our Drinking Round, we paid respect to the big Red Planet. Good Question had the NASA Knowledge to put that victory in the can and free shots on their table. 

Bernie took the lead coming into the second half, but Montana and #ChargeOn were only points behind in second. It was going to be a photo finish for the big win. Montana tied it in Round 6, leaving only a few points left to win the entire game.

It came down to a SINGLE POINT to declare our champions.

Our winners for the night were Bernie Maximus, Montana, and Christmas Sweaters!

QUIZ RECAP

The players came out to play on the Tuesday before thanksgiving. Trivia and not Turkey was on the brain as the race for the top prize was very close.
In the end, Good Question, Next Question claimed the top spot and bragging rights. 
The drinking round consisted of presenting a $50 bill and folding it into the best Turkey. (Turkey was kind of on the brain).
