QUIZ RECAP

The heat is on. Spring in the Valley started with a sweltering wave of brain-melting temperatures. But things are always hot (and minds are always on fire) at Idle Hour every Tuesday night. That’s right, it’s time for more…KING TRIVIA!

28 teams joined us in our barrel-shaped bar for the best trivia show in all of NoHo.

Round One is normally and easy venture for our seasoned veterans, but only a few chose to risk it all for a quick double: Quiz-Team-A Aguilera, Agents of the Zeitgeist, ODEON, and Breakfast All Day.

Round Two was a strip down memory lane, looking at some of the classic comics of the Sunday paper. While a few teams recognized the majority of 2D stars, only Agents of the Zeitgeist had the numbers to take the lead. 

Round Three was a flip for the for which entity has the silliest names:  Dr. Seuss or Cricket. Breakfast All Day knew their Wockets from their Wickets and took the top spot. 

Round Four was too easy, as most of our teams are sovereign citizens of Flavortown, and the scores didn’t move. 

Our Drinking Round served as a reminder that the best stories begin with great writing, so pay artists what they’re worth! But also, we talked about famous movie and awarded Bad News Care Bears the free shots! 

Rounds Five, Six, and Seven were a scrum and a half. While Breakfast All Day took their lead and never looked back, the second and third spots were hotly contested. Quiz-Team-A and Kingbeez danced in third and second, birthday guests in The Dog snuck close to the silver spot, and ODEON nearly snuck away with a big win. But in the end, after a major tie-breaker, we had our winners.   

Breakfast All Day, Wildly Inconsistent, and Agents of the Zeitgeist.

QUIZ RECAP

The winds of change may be blowing throughout the streets of Los Angeles, but one thing remains immovable here in NoHo: Idle Hour is THE BEST place to play…KING TRIVIA! 

23 teams joined us in our barrel-shaped bar for a barrel of fun, seven rounds of questions, and the tastiest cocktails this side of the 101.

Round One was simply trivia training wheels, getting our teams up to speed with the way the game is played. We had the usual tie, pumped up our players’ egos, and moved along. 

Round Two was decidedly spicier as our pictures asked players to think beyond the superficial and give us the titles and names of iconic tyrants. Jake and all of his lovely friends tied with Wildly Inconsistent in first. 

Round Three saw Wild take the lead by a single point, leaving Jake in second.

Round Four was simply too easy for these seasoned bingers, so no positions changed for our teams. 

Our Drinking Round focused not he discovery of magnets…because why not? After a sudden-death tie breaker, Successful Beards earned the free shots…and gained a boost they sorely needed for future rounds. 

Round Five certainly needed a bigger boat as our teams through our risky doubles to leap into the lead. Successful Beards, fresh off their free drink win, snatched that top spot!

Round Six asked which of teams were most familiar with the Game Show Network. As it turned out, quite a few! Beards maintained their lead, but Bad News Care Bears and Wildly Inconsistent pushed hard to take back their spots!

Round Seven came down to who watched the most Shark Week. When all was said and done, we crowned our winners. Successful Beards, Bad News Care Bears, and Wildly Inconsistent!

QUIZ RECAP

Merry Strikemas to all who celebrate! The streets may be crowded with word-smiths, but the hallowed halls of Idle Hour were packed with answer-smiths eager to cement their place in history. Welcome to KING TRIVIA!

30 groups rested their feet after a long day of picketing to enjoy the best trivia in the Valley…nay, THE WORLD.

Round One landed at a massive tie at the top, but most important is that every team submitted on time. 

Round Two took a turn toward spots in TV and film, which combined our teams’ least and most favorite topics in one arena! Drunk and on Strike jumped into an early lead and hoped to hold it.

Round Three saw Camp Mohawk demonstrate their knowledge of spines and space as they tore into second.

Round Four saw the silver spot swap again as Three Cool Boys snagged the title from Mohawk. 

Our Drinking Round honored the struggle of our brothers and sisters protesting for their right to a living wage. That’s right, it was a Union Strong celebration, and we had some hard-hitting questions for our teams. Jimmy Timmy Power Hour battled a few rounds before taking the free shots. 

Round Five had our teams thinking about tossed salads and scrambled eggs. Team Charcuterie managed a tricky double to snag second place away, but gold remained firmly with Drunk and on Strike. 

Round Six was a boon for those fools taking Latin in high school. No Thoughts Head Empty managed to rise to the occasion, and suddenly this was a real ball game…because while Drunk and on Strike had a perfect round, they didn’t double. 

Round Seven came down to the choices made throughout the game. When to double, when to skip, when to forget to hit submit. 

Our winners for the night were Breakfast All Day, Drunk and On Strike, and No Thoughts Head Empty.
