QUIZ RECAP

There are few places in NoHo with a better evening adventure than Idle Hour come Tuesday Nights! We’ve got the best food, the best drinks, and the best trivia in town. That’s right: King Trivia! 26 teams arrived for a throw down, and they were not about to be disappointed. 

Of course the first round went to a massive tie, as these veterans knew the power of the double down early on. However, the newbie teams weren’t about to outdone by the old folk. Points began to fly as our fancy barrel-shaped bar became a full on brawl!

Camp Mohawk took an early lead in Round 2, but were trailed closely by It’s Quizness Time. With more than two dozen champs gunning for the top spot, how long would this lead hold out?

Mohawk managed to hold onto a tight lead, but ten teams were within striking distance the entire time. That led us into the Drinking Round with a question about National Road Map Day! Camp Mohawk, intent on earning the ire of every team, won the free shots as well! Unstoppable. 

Or so they thought…

Coming back into Round 5, we saw Camp Mohawk lose the lead to Downtown Sasquatch and Real Housewives, but soon it was a fierce tie for all top 4 spots! It would all come down to Round 7…and likely a tie-breaker to follow!

After the dust settled, we had TWO ties to break to learn our final winners. After a nail-biting few moments, we crowned Camp Mohawk our 4th place winner!

In the top seats, Downtown Sasquatch, Real Housewives of NoHo, and (winner of our Best Name of the Night) Let’s Get Down to Quizness to Defeat the Puns!

QUIZ RECAP

The rains brought all the trivia holdouts to the bar, and they were eager for a big show. Fortunately, they found themselves at Idle Hour with King Trivia, the best game in town! 27 of the meanest teams you ever did see slid into our barrel-shaped ballroom with money on their mind, and only seven rounds separated them from victory. 

Veterans and newbies alike launch an assault of answers as the show began, leading to a massive tie after Round One. However, by only Round Three, Quiz Kid Donnie Smith had taken a sizable lead. Behind them was a tie of biblical proportions trailing all the way to the center of the pack. 

During our Drinking Round, Noho It Alls took a big swing to guess the year for our This Day in History quiz, earning a free round of shots for their team. This energy boost…did not directly translate to their points, but was a victory nonetheless. 

Coming out of Round Five we had a sudden upset, as Camp Mohawk snuck away with the lead, followed by a trio of tied teams. This game was suddenly in anyone’s hands…but could they hold onto the ball? 

Round Six was another intense hustle, but Mohawk held their lead with Charleston Chiefs close behind. In fact, the first ten teams were only points apart as we closed in on the final question. 

With the last answers turned in, our champions emerged. Camp Mohawk took the top spot, Charlestown Chiefs in second, with Big Ronnie and the Chandliers in third!

QUIZ RECAP

As we near the end of March, only one championship bracket is on anyone’s mind: KING TRIVIA at Idle Hour! 

24 teams arrived in our barrel-shaped bar to throw down with the greatest trivia show in town. It was standing room only as this QM and DJ Pandora took the stage to start the game. 

As usual, we started with a tie that had nearly half the assembled teams fighting for the top spot. Cliques were made, alliances and betrayals abound, and only a rare few were ready to face the tribe at the elimination circle. Er…I mean one team miraculously took first place only two rounds in. My new dad is Pete might have secured an early lead…but could they hold it?

As it turns out…NO! Real Housewives of Noho snagged the lead the very next round. It became a back and forth that no one could break, and it only drove the teams beneath crazier. 

Since we all needed a quick break before launching into the back half, we took time to honor National AG Day for our Drinking Round. The QM tricked out a combine harvester on John Deere’s website and challenged the teams to price it out. With the closest guess, Big Ronnie and the Chandliers took the free shots, much to the chagrin of the assembled teams. 

Coming into the final stretch, we saw the crown trading hands once again. It was a real scrum between our top 10 teams. 

As we jumped past Round 5, Ace Tomato Company took a sudden and strong lead away from our tied competitors. It was truly anyone’s game. When Round 6 ended, the scores were nearly locked together. What would happen next?

As it turns out, A NEW LEADING TIE! Real Housewives and My new dad took the top spot away from Ace Tomato, leading to a final showdown in Round 7. This was as tense as we’ve ever seen things in Idle Hour. 

When the dust settled, we had a clear winner in the game: Real Housewives of Noho, My new dad is Pete, and Ace Tomato Company.
