Oh there can’t be nothing finer than some trivia in a diner in the…eeeeeevening! That’s right, it’s Tuesday night, which means more KING TRIVIA here at Idle Hour in NoHo. 33 teams arrived for a showdown of epic proportions as newbies and veterans said yes to our quizzical quest with 7 rounds of the best game in town.
The first half of the game was a monster of a tie, whittling down round after round until we finally have a 7-way split going into the half.
During the Drinking Round, we paid homage to the challenges of decent penmanship for National Handwriting Day. POOR THINGS, eager to grab a little liquid encouragement, knocked it out of the park for the big win.
It wasn’t until Round 5 that we finally had a leader. Alemany stepped up with a powerful double, eager to lock in for the final stretch. But Breakfast All Day was quick to step in during Round 6, leapfrogging into a safe position. With the top ten teams only points away from one another, it would all come down to a little geopolitickin’!
Our winners for the night were Barnes and Noble Permanent, Last Bus to Nutley, and Alemany!

With a brief respite from the frigid temperatures, it was the perfect evening for some epic trivia. Fortunately, Idle Hour knows just what NoHo needs…and that’s seven rounds of the best game in the business: KING TRIVIA!
26 teams arrived for the delicious food, delightful drinks, and diabolical questions of our patented trivia format.
It only took Trivial Pursuit of Dat Ass two rounds to step into the top spot, but they were followed closely by veterans of the Idle Hour arena. It was destined to be a heck of a scrum.
We’re the Problem wasn’t satisfied to be left in the dust. They managed to tie in the third, and steal the lead in the fourth. By Round 5, they were 12 points ahead on a crazy double down.
During our Drinking Round, we paid respects the best snack grade schoolers could hope for: Fig Newtons! With some amazing guesswork the 69ers took home the free shots.
With only a few rounds left, it was going to come down to risky doubles and plenty trivia trouble. Bernie Maximus laid into the accelerator and drove all the way to second place with only a single round to spare. It was going to be a photo finish!
Our winners for the night were We’re the Problem It’s Us, Bernie Maximus, and Grandma’s Ghost!

A chilly winter day never stood a chance against the raging fire of trivia here at Idle Hour. Over 30 teams arrives at our barrel-shaped battlefield to test their mettle and fight for points in the game of games…KING TRIVIA!
Quiz Kid Donnie Smith returned from their long hiatus with a hunger that could not be matched. From round 2, they dabbled in doubles and quickly quashed questions with unmatched ferocity. But they were not able to steal the lead so easily. Poor Things gave a tireless chase, always within two points of the top spot. It seemed these two were destined for an epic battle.
We gave our teams a needed respite with a challenging drinking round, asking them to guess what shirt QM Adam was wearing (it was a little more complicated and thematic, but that’s the gist of it). With a guess that was JUUUUUUST close enough, Drink 182 earned free shots and the liquid courage they needed for the second half.
As we returned from the free drinks, it seemed Quiz Kid had the game in the bag, but King Trivia is nothing if not fickle. In a Round 6 twist, Poor Things jumped in with a mighty double to leap ahead into first! It was all coming down to the final round! And, as it turns out, nobody was ready for what came next.
Our winners for the night were POOR THINGS, Quiz Kid Donnie Smith, and 3 Cool Boys!
