There’s only a week left before Valentine’s Day, which means you’d better get to shopping! There are flowers to buy, reservations to be made, and boxes upon boxes of chocolates to stack high upon your paramour’s doorstep. Of course, none of that mattered to the throngs of trivia titans descending on Idle Hour this Tuesday night. They craved a different kind of romance. They desired…KING TRIVIA!

29 teams arrived fresh and ready for an epic show, and they brought their talent and 

Round One was a challenge for many of our less chemically minded folks, but still ended with a 6-way tie at the top of the board. These teams were feeling the competitive energy and seemed ready for anything. 

Round Two was all about the clock app, which threw some of our less-online teams for a loop. Fortunately, these celebrities had jumped into the mainstream, helping Geralt of Trivia jump into the lead!

Round Three had our teams grabbing gnarly waves and landscaping shaves. Geralt kept their lead, but Live, Laugh, Love took a chance to close to striking distance.

Round Four was a big win for fans of The Crown. Live, Laugh, Love took a step into first, and Morella Panthers climbed into second. 

For our Valentine’s Day Round, we asked for the best (worst) puns for a holiday card. Kingbeez brought some old school wordplay (and some quality artwork) to take the win. 

In the Drinking Round, we celebrated National Period Table Day with a question about oxides. While each team did their best to remember 5th grade chemistry, Live, Laugh, Love took the win and the free shots!

Round Five pushed our teams to think outside the box to find connections between some zany answers. Live, Laugh, Love kept their lead, but Panthers and Geralt tied in second with only a couple points keeping them from the top.

Rounds Six and Seven proved the biggest shockers of all. Doubles arrived with wild abandon, allowing some teams to rise while others fell. It was basically the first few seasons of Game of Thrones, with epic heroes battling for a single spot!

As the dust settled, we crowned our new champions: Geralt of Trivia, Ducks Unlimited, and Downtown Sasquatch!

January may be on the way out, but trivia never DIES. Welcome to Idle Hour and the best show in all of NoHo…KING TRIVIA! The weather was just perfect as our gaggle of gorgeous gladiators descended on the barrel-shaped battlefield to vie for eternal glory…and some free drinks. 

25 teams arrived with trivia in their hearts and an insatiable thirst for bad puns (and delicious drinks), so we jumped right into the show. 

Round One was a strong warmup and led to a 4-way tie at the top of the board: Here for the Host, Quiz Kid Donnie Smith, Kingbeez, and Finishing Pints.

Round Two as a challenge for our less musically-inclined teams, but Finish ingPints took a chance and leapt into first, followed by Here for the Guac.

Round Three tested our teams knowledge of celebrities and celebrity outlaws. Finishing Pints maintained a strong lead, and Bean Bag pushed their way into second.

Round Four ended up without a major change, adding some pressure to the teams going into the halfway point. 

As we are nearing Valentine’s Day, this QM decided to throw a bonus round into the show and asked the teams to deliver their best V Day puns. With not only a great pun but a great digital card, 720 of Emotions became the first QM Valentine!

For our Drinking Round, we celebrated National Backward Day by playing famous songs backwards. After a few rounds, Bulldogs came out ahead and earned the free shots. 

Round Five was a round all about the amazing fake life and times of one infamous Congressperson. Finishing Pints held their lead, but gave up ground to the eager teams behind. Could they stay strong for two more rounds?

Round Six was almost too easy, and the needle didn’t move on the leaderboard as we rounded into the final stretch of the show! 

Round Seven challenged not only our teams’ endurance but their grammar! It was a photo finish!

We finally crowned our champions: Finish Pints, Bean Bag, and Move Over Jay-Z, It’s Gay-Z!
