The weather in Los Angeles is a lot like the relationship between writers and studios: constantly chaotic (and somewhat exploitative)! But nothing can keep the masters of mystery from joining forces in Idle Hour for 7 rounds of incredible trivia!
27 teams joined together in every available seat to show off their knowledge and win big prizes. It was a battle for the ages, and we couldn’t wait to begin.
Round One started with the normal Big Ol’ Tie™, but round two opened up quickly as Emergency Food: Peaches Peaches Peaches (Acoustic Version) jumped into the lead, with five teams battling for second.
Round Three got the crowd to their feet to watch a live performance of the designated dances (leading to some extra prizes for the competitors), and ended in a three-way tie with Agents of the Zeitgeist, Valley Girls, and Quiz Kid Donnie Smith.
Round Four caught our teams on the red carpet with some hard hitting gossip, leading to a whittled-down first place spot: Zeitgeist and Valley Girls. But the real shocks were just coming up.
Our Drinking Round took the National Animal Crackers question to its logical conclusion and had our team battling it out to see who knew the most about Shirley Temple. In the end, Bimbos defeated the others to win the free shots.
Round Five chilled the leaderboard and opened the door for Emergency Food to step into first, but only points ahead of the competition.
Round Six and Seven knocked down more and more of the competition, pushing our players to the very edge of their trivial knowledge. It was all coming down to the final seconds!
Our winners for the night were Emergency Food: Peaches Peaches Peaches (Acoustic Version), The Bimbos, and Agents of the Zeitgeist!

Why is tonight different from all other nights? Short answer? IT’S NOT! It may still be Passover, but we’re not skipping any chance to chow down on some delicious riddles and rhymes. Welcome to King Trivia at Idle Hour!
27 teams gathered for a post-Easter (and mid Passover) trivia extravaganza. While this QM was still stuffed with Matzoh, he was overflowing with quizzical knowledge! But were these teams ready to feast?
Round One warmed up these trivia titans with some over-the-plate general knowledge questions, leading to a comfortable tie for six teams at the top of the board.
Round Two made life easier for our teams by asking for only a single name for these eight celebrities. While there were a few drawing a blank, Quiz Team A Aguilera managed to remember their E True Hollywood stories and take the lead.
Round Three got frisky with a little wine and a little detective dramas, enabling 720 of Emotion to get within 2 points of the top spot.
Round Four wasn’t playing silly pool games, an the teams quickly caught on to the ruse. With a bold leap, 720 tied for first with Quiz Team A.
Our Drinking Round looked for the cutest pet photo in the room, and we weren’t disappointed. Joe’s Revenge took the twin and the free shots with mermaid dog!
Round Five revealed which of our teams had spent a few too many summers at Math Camp, and turned out to be the dream maker for two teams! Joaquin Phreezer and Breakfast All Day tied for first!
Round Six and Seven became a slug fest for every level, leading up to a final showdown for the bravest doublers in the room. In the end, however, first place was no contest.
Our winners for the night were Breakfast All Day, Joaquin Phreezer, and a surprise score for Emergency Food: Goldfish the Team that Smiles Back.

Spring is in the air…meaning this Quizmaster’s allergies were on FIRE. But neither puffy eyes or stuffy noses can stop the KING from reigning supreme in the barrel kingdom. Welcome to King Trivia at Idle Hour!
29 teams arrived in our quizzical kingdom to serve in the tournament of trivia titans. At stake, three amazing prizes and an extremely satisfying drinking round. But only a few could emerge victorious…who would it be?
Round One pressed our teams to cover the full gamut of trivial knowledge, ending in a five-way tie for supremacy.
Round Two got the room in the mood for Spring Break as Quiz Kid Donnie Smith took the lead (that they would carry for the rest of the game).
Round Three began the fight for second as Talk Nerdy to Me and Slippery Knots locked for second. Round Three also saw some amazing pun work regarding talk show hosts and Arson (also arson puns) with Arson-io Hall, Arson Daily, and Johnny Arson.
Round Four wasn’t too much of a challenge for our intrepid heroes, and allowed Talk Nerdy to creep ever closer to the top spot.
Our Drinking Round honored National Librarian and National Arraignment Day. Buckin Broncos managed to snag the free shots with their in-depth knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System (or just a lucky guess).
Round Five dreamed of Californication as Cousins by Choice shot into second, chasing the impossible dream of Quiz Kid.
Rounds Six and Seven proved the deciders as 3X Reno Champions and Breakfast All Day risked big with a few doubles to vie for the final spots.
Our winners for the night were Quiz Kid Donnie Smith, 3X Reno Regional Trivia Champs, and Breakfast All Day.
Also, extra special mention to Emergency Food: Wrong Answers Only for sticking to a belated April Fool’s joke and scoring -1. Incredible work.
