The Lion & Crown Pub, an English-style pub with a large and varied menu, is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. serving lunch, dinner and daily specials. The pub also offers a wide selection of fine wines and 38 beers on tap. Guests can watch sporting events on one of the many large TV screens or enjoy a nice night out on the patio. Different drink specials are available every day and live music on Friday and Saturday.

Another great King Trivia Pub Quiz night was had at the Lion & Crown Pub at Watter’s Creek.  Lots of new faces showed up and created new teams Thursday night.  New comers Boggi, Shady Nasty and The Salty Penguins were made welcome but the most impressive showing was by newbies, Pickles on a Plate, who, first time players, walked away with a second place win!  Home teams Ninja Turtles and Ship It! took first and third respectively.  Our regular publican Derek was out this week on honeymoon duty.  (Congratulations, old boy!  Many years of happiness to you!)  But owner, operator Rob took over behind the bar and ran things with aplomb!  A merry olde tyme was had by all!

Nothing pleases Quiz Master Lou more than being able to torture his audience with his a cappella renditions of jukebox hits which happen to be the answers (or the questions) to King Trivia quizzes!  Thank you, King Trivia!  You’ve made my life complete!  The Lion & Crown here in Allen, TX was doubly blessed Thursday night with the return of the Foot Clan as well as signing up newcomers We Hate Puns.  But most impressive was the appearance of the Quiz Knows all the way from Addison!  L&C favorites, Ninja Turtles, tasted bitter comeuppance with second place to the Quiz Knows’ first place win.  Foot Clan surprised with a seventh round scoop by passing We Hate Puns’ steady grip on third place.  Regulars Ship It! fumbled Round 7 by going Double or Nothing, getting 3 wrong answers and throwing away third place!  Oh, the agony!  Southside Johnny’s dropped to last position, due mostly to the fact that their big brain didn’t show up this week.  They do get accolades though, for planting their standard and maintaining their stalwart presence!  That’s all the trivia that’s fit to print!  Until next week…

This Thursday’s King Trivia Pub Quiz at the Lion & Crown may have been small, but was action packed and enthusiastic nonetheless!  Competition was so stiff, we actually had to have a tie breaker question.  Final winners were the recently formed Southside Johnnies who triumphed over local favorites Ninja Turtles.  Usual suspects Rogue One and Ship It!  also acquitted themselves well and special thanks to out-of-town visitors Falcon Awesome who joined up!  I have a feeling they may look for a participating pub in their city when they get back home!  All I can say is, Gin and Pudding will never take the place of Literary Theatre Musicals, although they tried.
