One fateful day three decades ago, five boys picked up a game of handball during school recess on a Fountain Valley playground. They grew up together, became life-long friends and pursued their own ambitions. But they shared a deep love for their hometown and dreamed of one day opening a restaurant together where they could share good food, good drinks and reminisce about good times. The Recess Room is their childhood dream come to life.

Welcome to the two new team of Team Mona with Mom -Karen Lorraine Mota and daughter Marina Victoria Mota (we had an after trivia chat about the family histories of names.) Also welcome to Team Dos Equis -Kim and James who are fans of the letter X- inside joke. We chatted about George Carlin after trivia. 

Thank you to the returning teams. Congratulations to the winning teams. Tonight was an interesting assortment of trivia. Well played by everyone. The funniest stuff comes up in round 7. As Californians, we generally don't know a lot about the politics of our Northern cousins so a question about who are the living prime ministers gets funny answers like lo the names of the Sevn Dwarves as well as Canadians hockey players. As a Toronto born gypsy anchor baby who only lived there a year, please forgive me Canada but I do want to still get my passport. 

See us all next Wednesday for more trivial pursuit and silliness with great food, staff and beverages plus good music. We know how to party like Kings!!

Mid January 2022 and we are the night warriors of fun! Welcome to new team "Moo the Cat" with Sarah and Brandon from Anaheim. Team Implication's brothers Jeremy and Issac brought their sweet Mom to join the team with their girlfriends and Diego who now sports a fireman looking mustache.  Ava 's Miinions let us know that Lauren reached her destination after a 17 hours flight.  We are a family affair here. 

Tonight in the 7 rounds we touched on factors from Catcher In The Rye, Disney alumni,   famous hotels featured in movies, some sports couples, the Fast and Furious connection and other fun miscellaneous random trivia. 

Mark your calendar for the first Wednesday in February to wear red and something with a tiger for our Chinese New Year's celebration of a new year and the year of the tiger!

Congratulations to Keit for his 100 winning points and achieving first place in tonight's game. 

After game recaps are always interesting. Ava Minions team and yours truly were chatting about Ireland and tentative plans are starting about all going over to Dublin in August 2023 for the Norte Dame game at the Aviva Stadium. It will be my 11th time over and their first. Brian was telling us one of his Dad's Irish jokes with an authentic Irish brogue.

Happy 2022. So glad to see my loyal returning teams. Congratulations to Kiet for his first win of the new year. We had a tie breaker for 2nd place with Thirsty Pretzels having the closest year to the Irish uprising on Easter Sunday 1916. 

Big cheers for Diego of team Implication who just finished the fire dept.academy. Also bon voyage and thank you for your service to Lauren of Ava's Minions who returns to her militiary deployment abroad. Yvonne of Ava's Minions was raving about my colorful granny squares  crochet I gifted her due to her compliment of mine. She said it is a hit over the holidays with her Aussie families during screentime. 

Everyone liked the assortment of topics and questions plus it was free whiskey tasting night!! This week was Balcones Distilling from Waco, Texas
