We at King Trivia believe in ageless fun just like when we were young kids. Trivia night lets us be wise, silly, enjoy beverages, great food and good company. We may ourgrown things (like my toddler grandson and his baby pool!) but we adapt.
Packed house under the big top outside. Perfect setup. This week I went totally modern with my usb bluetooth boombox speakers. DJ fun!
Welcome to Hayden's high school Team buddies -Alicia, Spence, Patrick and Matt with the Mattress team name. Welcome to Millie's Minions plus our loyal motley crew of Highway Star (with Evelyn and Jerry joining Keit), Church of Qizentolgy, Ava's Minions, Implication, Tapped Out, Thirsty Pretzels and Tapped Out.
My plans for a sub for a few weeks have changed. We will celebrate with Christmas in July next Wednesday plus the last Wednesday is Luau attire in honor of Tiki Oasis that I will be attending in San Diego at the end of July.
Hello from the Big Top out in the Pandemic Pause Patio in front of the Recess Room! Big night inside the restaurant with the 'Free Whisky Tasting'. So us trivia kids were sent outside to play and we love it. Plus Roy is back all tanned and relaxed from a vacation. Life is good!
Welcome back to our loyal returning players - Highway Star, Ava's Minons, Tapped Out, Implication and Thirsty Pretzels. Welcome to our two new teams, 4 Free Whisky Tasters and Triv Laugh Love.
Music in the Big Top was via my old school boom box which Keit gave an appropriate movie reference of 'No 2nd Floor' from 'Say Anything with John Cusack. Trivia is all around us!
Round 1 General Knowledge was 6 questions involving Stephen King, nonagon, Manhattan Project, The Oscars, Chicago and an European chocolate bar.
Round 2 was 'Can You Dig It?' Picture Round to name the actor portrayibg an archaelogist with 8 pictures of current and familiar actors.
Round 3 was the Theme Round of 'One Smart Cookie" a round about our favorite circylar sweets. Who knew that Animal Crackers has 53 shape variations!
Round 4 was a Guess Who round involving a Californian actor who made self produced independent mixtapes which he now refers to as "decrepit Drake". His initials are D G. You have to be here to know.
Round 5 for Find The Connection was a GREAT round of 9 clues and the 10th question seeking the connection. It involved gourds, a magician, a Welsh actress, a car, a novel character, Colin Farrell (be still my heart!)....
Round 6 handout of Riot Girls was match the sing to the 90s woman-fronted band. I have seen 2 of the 10 bands listed and know of all but one of the bands. Music matters and it is an ever evolving playlist to keep in the know. Speaking of, I will be on hiatus soon for a few weeks helping out the music scene at The Hangar at the OC Fair in hopes of seeing comic Jo Koy and Dwight Yoakim whom I helped with his tour merchandise back in the day. I am sure King Trivia will have an awesome sub and I will leave that person a suitcase with the quizmaster table light and the personalized team name table reserve signs. I will check in on the weekly recaps and I am optismistic the home teams will keep the trivia thirst going.
Round 7 was the 'Tor-NATO' round to name 10 of the 13 countries that formed the North Atlantic Treaty Alluance in 1949.
Keep returning to our contactless high tech trivia fun where we have lots of laughs. I need to make Keit a tshirt that reads 'Release the question!' Damn great idea! Love always, your beloved quizmistress of a master of ceremony. Play on and rock on.
Where has half a year gone? Thankfully Recess Room has kept trivia going as one team came from Bellflower as their previous location is history. Covid changes!
Great turnout with 4 returning teams, one relocated team and one new team. 16 players aka night arriors ready to trivia rumble!
Highway Star kept rolling the trivia gold dice for "double or nothing" which won him lots of points this he won first place.
Have a great 4th of July weekend and come join us all next Wednesday.
