Nothing like having some old teams, but new teammates join in on the King Trivia fun! Shout out to all the sisters, nieces, and parents for watching their relatives kick ass in all things not switch- or Britney-related.
We had some double-down pansies in our midst, especially when it came to Disney dads and pencil toppers, but the ones that did prevailed!
Wood Will Hunting started off strong with their new secret weapon starting them off right with 14 points. This gave them all the cushion they needed to take home the $10 third place prize.
The Implication knew their Disney World and Disney dads, and DOUBLY knew their pencil toppers. They were a shoo-in to tie with Ava's Minions for first place, but ALAS! Ava's Minions remembered to turn in their pen for an extra bonus point with about 20 seconds to spare! Those lucky Minions took home first, leaving The Implication with second place and a free appetizer, which isn't a bad night at all, I say.
It was a pleasure having such a fantastic crowd out on the patio in such fantastic weather. See you guys back next week -- same time, same place!
All teams were determined to get that Recess Room bread tonight! Daddy Down was back after a hiatus doing daddly things, and they might need to try again next week to really get into the swing of things. And Highway Stars placed just above them -- their honesty regarding a mathematical error cost them third place, but earned them mad respect and all the kudos we could give.
Thirsty Pretzels missed out on a double-down opportunity in Round 2, but conquered the Guess Who? round, earning themselves a complimentary appetizer and third place! Asians Who Don't Raisin brought in the whole crazy poor crew to secure second place, thanks to their Scooby Doo smarts. Ava's Minions didn't know if they could hit first place, but they did it for a Scooby Snack.
Hoooooo boy, this was such a close game! I mean, Wood & Plenty and Asians Who Don't Raisin both suffered on our Lin-Manuel Miranda and up-until-tonight-I-thought-were-mostly-made-up diets rounds, but other than that -- closer than a 5-4 Angels/Dodgers game!
We had to bust out a tiebreaking question between Home Team and Win Or Lose We Still Booze in order to see who would come in second, and who could come in third. No one was close to the 109 songs that were played in the first season of My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, but Home Team was still slightly less close, so he got the honor of second-place ranking. Home Team also got a free appetizer for being the first to guess Lin-Manuel Miranda's name for Round 4, so he was practically untouchable tonight!
By a hair, the top team was Thirsty Pretzels, the only team to guess Franklin Pierce was one of the youngest presidents on the date of their inauguration, which brought them into the lead by one measly point, making up for their lack of knowledge on video game series.
Great job, everyone! I hope to get you all on the Thai Tots diet soon enough!
