About The Recess Room

Answer Submission Form for The Recess Room

One fateful day three decades ago, five boys picked up a game of handball during school recess on a Fountain Valley playground. They grew up together, became life-long friends and pursued their own ambitions. But they shared a deep love for their hometown and dreamed of one day opening a restaurant together where they could share good food, good drinks and reminisce about good times. The Recess Room is their childhood dream come to life.

"Do you remember the 21st day of September?' Thank you Earth, Wind and Fire but that was yesterday! Today is the beginning of Autumn with the equinox full moon. Such a magical time in this fast moving year transitioning from the dark days of Covid and the pandemic pause into roll out the barrel, we'll have a barrel of fun Rocktober soon! Which at Recess Room means HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS are starting to creep up in the restaurant and they are so awesome! This week you just get a sneak peak as my extra pics were in the wrong photo mode!

So lets talk trivia! Keit did it AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  LUCKY 17TH WEEKS IN A ROW AS #1. UNO!!! HIGHWAY STAR!! Congratulations! Some close calls with your competition but you kept the lead.

It was so awesome to have my irregular regulars back who travel from other cities to play as well as see their family teammates.

Round 1 General Knowledge involved housewives that are so real they show up in 'familiar' locations....Susan B. Anthony before she was on a coin, a dirty word genre of music, the acronym NFT, a NY Yankee pitcher and JRR Tolkien.

Round 2 the picture round in COLOR entitled 'You Louvre to See It" identify the painting involved a girl name Lisa, a Great Wave, Persistence of something you don't forget, a night full of stars, a farmer couple, a picture of someone screaming, a female with a nice earring and a painted political statement. (Art matters! I just got in 'cautionary warning' about put up small 8x8 cut outs of old calendar bird pictures in a drab work room at my  other obligation. Thank God for art, music and good times.)

Round 3 was White After Labor Day? Ugh! A round about posh and luxury brands was a very current and innovative trivia round. It involved No. 5, An extinct Needless Markup empty box at Fashion Island, Italy, a Greek messenger god, the  1917 British Flying corps watch brand and LV.

Round 4 really stumped a very competitive and knowledgeable team. Trivia can be such trickier! The Guess Who round was guessed by a few but not all. It involves the initials TT and being a bootlegger from the 1930s in a movie.

Round 5 Find the Connection involved crackers, a film company in Burbank, Happy Days, Dennis the Meanace, S1 unit of force, Gerty, rivers, Brady Bunch, capital city  Helena and.....

Finally to Round 7 for geography knowledge of a South America.

My off the wall selfie is a way back Wednesday pic of myself with my Irish cousin in Dublin with a Garda which is Irish/Gaelic for POLICE. Nice chap. He actually had a gf in Tustin. This pic if from 1998. It had been 20 years since I had been back to see my relatives. A pivotal point in my life. Read more in my upcoming book by March 2022. If you haven't visited Ireland yet, put it on your bucket list and do it.
