They grew up together, became life-long friends and pursued their own ambitions. But they shared a deep love for their hometown and dreamed of one day opening a restaurant together where they could share good food, good drinks and reminisce about good times. The Recess Room is their childhood dream come to life.

Hey King Trivia Family!

We sure had a great time here at the Recess Room! The question set for the evening was a challenging one. This minimized team's confidence in taking advantage of the Double or Nothing option. Can you say chickens!?? 😉 hehe just kidding.

The scores stayed close all night. It was any teams game... until it wasn't....The Highway Stars pulled through for the win! Coming in at a close 2nd was The Church of Quizentology and Ava's Minions clinching 3rd prize!

Shout out to Ava's Minions for being gracious on my mishap on the last round...they actually got all 5 answers right in round 7 for Plot Situations... your daughter is just too smart for that one! Lol.

I have to say my first time back as Quizmaster since the stay at home order was ahhhhhhmazing! Boy was I out of rhythm and fellow Quizmaster Lorraine saved the night with her hospitality and the crowd was so gracious and interactive.

The staff here are so personable and provide efficient customer service and the food is oh so good. Please join us here for fun trivia and the best crowd you could ask for.

  • Thank you to the loyal trivia teams for being fun participants in celebrating my upcoming b-day on the 11th. We had mini cupcakes, hats and noisemakers. We were kids at play at our enclosed patio playground at the Recess Room! A bit of a brisk autumn night yet comfortable with the modern stylish patio heater. Three cheers to Jacob and Greg for trekking all the way from Claremont to join us and they won too!!

The staff is great as always with Roy, Daniel, Kendall, new waitress Rishena, G and Chad in the bar, Sergio, Jorge and the maestro chefs in the kitchen. The bone marrow burger and scrumptious tater tots are the best!

Round 1 general knowledge was a mix of film buff and school facts. Round 2 was cowboy and cowgirl trivia with some fun controversy over Clint Eastwood and the movie 'Man with No Name'. After the game, Brian of Ava's Minons reenacted the movie scene where the possible name was uttered. The show isn't over till we all leave. Definitely fun to hang out afterwards too. I love being here every Wednesday night.

Wake us up when September ends... with this pandemic end of summer with smokey skies is over. Three fearless trivia veteran teams ventured outside the ac cooled interiors of their abodes during this excessive heatwave of a day to the thankfully cool night of a full moon to the Recess Room.

Jenn of the Church of Quizentology celebrated her bday with family and they came in second place. Honorable mention to Keit playing solo as the shining star of the Highway Stars as 'There is no I in team just ME". Ava's Minons is also a family team and they won by a good lead tonight. Well done everyone. Tonight was the playoffs with the Lakers so we appreciate those who came out to play.

The Recess Room has some fun Halloween decoration already up including a life size skeleton at the bar counter which will be fun for selfies and group pics. Busy night with two other birthdays in the restaurant. Brilliant staff with Roy, Kendall, Ray, Sergio and the kitchen staff.

Next week we celebrate my upcoming Libra bday on the 11th before I take time off for an aloha trip to help out a friend for a few weeks. Hope to see some returning teams. I will bring cupcakes!
