While tonight's questions were fairly easy, so many trivia players were stumped by the Chicago Bean, Mickey Mouse's Italian counterpart, the Mother of Dragons, and actresses! Made doubling down a challenge, but if you did so correctly, you were greatly rewarded!
King Trivia virgins Fickle Pickles (and we hope they return, because that was such a fun name to say!) did exceptionally well for their first time among all the experts in their field. They weren't too far behind the broken and sick (but still very sexy!) Knock on Wood, who lost the third place prize to Ava's Minions by one silly point.
We all had to bend the knee to Thirsty Pretzels, who walked away with second place AND a free appetizer for being the first team to guess Emilia Clark in Round 4. We also bent the knee to champions Highway Stars, who doubled down on the opening credits for their favorite sci-fi/fantasy TV shows, which shot them to the top.
While bartenders from near and far competed against themselves to see who could concoct the best drink, our King Trivia players were competing to see who knew the most about everything/nothing there is to know.
The Home Team begrudgingly admitted defeat after taking a 50/50 shot by choosing the iPhone instead of the iPod for our Guess What? round (Thirsty Pretzels claimed a free appetizer for that one instead) and not knowing any two-word Best Picture winners.
Baby Cheeses also weren't too familiar with Best Picture winners, and not confident in their iPod knowledge to guess earlier on, but they did well enough to go home with third place.
Ava's Minions were a couple points shy on being able to risk a double down on their statues and inventor/inventions round, but still took home second place for their efforts.
And Thirsty Pretzels, who weren't confident enough to double down on statues and inventors, but had Ava's Minions beat on award connections and two-word Best Picture winners, which was enough to claim their title as Champion of the Evening.
Thanks to you all for coming out. It's a huge boost to your Quizmaster that you chose her over a Disney+ evening. Take THAT, Mickey!
X's and Oh's weren't hard to win; but no one knew about The Shins.
Half our teams thought Guess Who? wasn't so great; and no one remembered Pennslyvania's sixth bordering state.
But we liked war movie stars very much; we scored very well on Round 6 as such.
Highway Stars sailed into first; in last was Divorce Sucks (it truly is the worst).
Ava's Minions had one successful double-down; but two double faux pas' made them frown.
Thirsty Pretzels put up a good fight; but settled for second at the end of the night.
Third place was given to our dear Baby Cheeses; who barely beat out the Doctors -- thank you, Jesus!
Even if you felt your game was bleak; you'll do better if you come back next week!
