Welcome to the classy outdoors safe social distancing chill zone patio at the Recess Room for King Trivia! We're baaack! No more quiz books and pens, scoring has gone DIGITAL with a QR code handout to open the digital answer sheet on your device. No pandemic is going to stop this safe social distancing party.
We had a total of 5 fun groups with two returning regular teams-Kiet with Evelyn and Jerry in the Highway Stars and Ava's Minions with Brian, Yvonne and Brian's daughters Laura and Veronica. The King Trivia newbies are the dynamic duo on the chill zone couch of Brian and Kat = Brat team.
The biggest team of the night with the most excitement and laughter was the team -The Gems with bride to be Crystal and the five bridesmaids-Sarah, Joey, Eileen, Hang and Than. They came for a bridal shower under the parking lot big white tents for dinner and they decided to keep the fun rolling with joining King Trivia. Late starters trio, The Bogies, joined us in the fifth row after their golf game.
The staff of manager Roy, waitress Kendall, assistant Jorge, plus bartenders Chad and Danny plus the kitchen cooks kept all the guests happy, fed and refreshed with their drinks on this August summer night.
We had seven rounds to complete before closing time at 9. Thankfully Roy let us go a bit over. The picture round of Starlight, Star Bright was a good reminder to look at the stars more at night and learn the arrangement. Never stop learning! Shoot for the stars! The theme round of Where There Is Smoke was right when the sun was setting and we got the patio heaters turned on to keep the Gems team warm in their summer party dresses. Round 5 of Find the Connection was a thriller. Round 6 with State of the Union showed who paid attention in History and Geography. We had a fun night!

There was an epic battle in Fountain Valley tonight at the Recess Room, but you won't hear this story on your local news... We had thinkers, tinkers, and epic booze drinkers. In the end, only one King Trivia team could reign supreme! Third and second place teams Basic B's and the Thirsty Pretzels had to answer a difficult tie breaker question, which the Thirsty Pretzels ended up getting close enough to take home the second place prize! It was the Highway Stars who went home with the coveted crown, taking home the first place and bragging rights once again. If you weren't able to make it tonight, not to worry. King Trivia will be back next Tue. night at 7 PM at the Recess room. Hope to see you all there, and remember, KEEP ON QUIZZING!
Super Tuesday was super in more ways than one! Everyone who voted in the primaries secured one additional point each for their team, so things were already off to a great start there.
New faces included Basic Bitches, Nurdspace, and The Lumpy Mansters, who were not to be messed with! Basic Bitches got caught up in the difficulty of our dawn theme, Central American country capitals, and almost everything Nick Offerman-related. But soccer team gurus Lumpy Mansters only lost third place to Church of Quizentology (peace and useless knowledge be upon you) because they thought the Chinese EPCOT showcase was Japanese, and risked a double down. And Nurdspace held the lead by a hair, until Thirsty Pretzels slaughtered them in Round 7 to the surprise of no one (except, maybe the Nurdspace newbies, of course).
Thirsty Pretzels were also the first to guess Nick Offerman was the Guess Who? of the week, and received free truffle mac 'n' cheese for their efforts. Which was REALLY distracting, by the way, as I found myself genuinely attempting to eat the smell as best as I could.
Hope you all enjoyed this week's game of King "Well I Didn't Vote For You" Trivia!
