Paw-ternity leave to bond with my "Little Miss Sunshine" Olive (picture attached!) was loads of fun the past couple weeks, but boy, was I happy to see my Daddies, Pretzels, Woodies, and Implications again! You were all missed and thought about. <3
Home Team was out, probably doing some nerdy thing, but Ava's Minions returned and were a formidable replacement! They were a little disappointment in their game, but were pleasantly surprised they didn't come in dead last after three double-down fails (love you, Daddy Meow!).
The Implication, Knock On Wood, and Thirsty Pretzels were all duking it out for that top spot -- everyone knew their wrestling star movies, multiple-word state capitals, castles, and probably more Simba than anyone else on the planet. With only a 5-point difference between 1st and 3rd, there was some sweating, but Thirsty Pretzels were living and breathing the hakuna matata mantra. They just barely beat out Knock on Wood for the $40 win, and barely beat out The Implication for their free appetizer.
I don't plan on adopting more cats anytime soon (please don't tempt me, universe), so I'll definitely see you all next Tuesday!
A very tough set of questions for all teams involved. Each team had 5 points in Round 1, and it stayed pretty neck and neck from there. Round 4 was tough for everyone, but with three teams getting the 2 point clue, it allowed AVA'S MINIONS and KNOCK ON WOOD to pull ahead.
In the end, Round 7 determined the top three with AVA'S MINIONS, THIRSTY PRETZELS, and THE IMPLICATION. With nine points from 5th to 1st, it was anyone's game!
You would think DADDY DOWN doubling down and starting the game with 12 points would make it really easy for them to win first, right? It would be tough to beat, but THIRSTY PRETZELS wasn't going down without a fight. KNOCK ON WOOD was neck and neck with them as well, until Round 4, the Guess Who round.
CRAZY BROKEASS ASIANS won 8 points on Guess Who, and won a complimentary appetizer for guessing the right answer first. HOME TEAM also got 8 points, as well as THIRSTY PRETZELS, closing the lead that DADDY DOWN had on them.
Round 5, THIRSTY PRETZELS tied the game with DADDY DOWN, with a solid round from HOME TEAM. Round 6, HOME TEAM got a perfect 10 points, but missed the opportunity to double down and clench 1st place.
In the final round, THIRSTY PRETZELS won the most points with 8 out of 10. KNOCK ON WOOD, although a contender for 3rd, received 0 points after a double-or-nothing upset.
In the end, THIRSTY PRETZELS beat out second-place DADDY DOWN for that #1 spot, and the one-man HOME TEAM finished 3rd.
