QUIZ RECAP

Saw some old faces, and a lot of new faces ready to quiz it up tonight! Whoo!

Thirsty Pretzels had to work for their first place win tonight, as we-haven't-been-here-in-a-while team Win or Lose We Still Booze returned with a vengeance, holding a strong lead throughout most of the game. Win or Lose We Still Booze would have won if they remembered to turn in their pen at the end of the round (d'oh!), but instead, they went into the sudden death tiebreaking round with Thirsty Pretzels. Win or Lose thought the Hope Diamond was worth a pants-crapping 140 carats, but the Thirsty Pretzels were only slightly closer with 3o.

Zondy went home with the third place prize, thanks to the very generous video game/Presidential birthday aficionado, Home Team. Glass Wearers and Low Expectations (hey, at least they had nothing to be disappointed about!) gave it their genuine best, and we hope to see them back again really soon!

QUIZ RECAP

Tonight was competitive as heck, but not too much bloodshed!

Some zeros were taken strategically, some on accident, and some on accident more than once. If we were playing by golf rules, And the Bottle Makes 3 would've knocked everyone out of the park, doubling down incorrectly on two rounds in a row, and not doubling down on the one round where they had everything right! D'oh!

Highway Stars came out to play, and barely missed 3rd place, no thanks to Glacier National Park and some obscure video games.

Lords of the Recess Room, Meat & Cheese Boyz and Home Team, were going head-to-head for that first place slot. But the upset came from Thirsty Pretzels, who, after an accidental double-down goof in Round 6, blew everyone out of the water with their NBA MVP knowledge. 20 points and the game all went to them at the last minute. Go Pretzels!

With Home Team and Meat & Cheese Boyz donating their 2nd and 3rd place gift cards to the teams placing 4th and 5th, everyone got to go home with Recess Room money, bellies full of delicious food, and new tidbits of knowledge.

All in all, LOVED tonight's turnout -- hope we can top it next week!

Thank you, Recess Room, for hosting us inside this week! This past weekend was so damn miserable weather-wise, I think we all just would've DIED if we had another evening outdoors.

The Home Team knew all about your Quizmaster's future husband, Jeff Goldbum, but didn't know his tea parties or TV judges so he took home the bronze. Knock on Wood knew their baseball and TV judges like the back of their hand, but were a little apprehensive about doubling down, so they took home the silver. Thirsty Pretzels didn't know their Claire Danes (but they knew their Kirsten Dunst, and really, what's the difference between the two, anyway?), but they proudly doubled down on their independent countries, and took home the gold!

But seriously, can we have more Jeff Goldblum picture rounds? Maybe the Jurassic Park movie where his shirt's unbuttoned to reveal his delightfully Goldblum-y chest? Give it some thought, Trivia Gods!
