More competition usually means more fun, but a quiet night in means everyone wins!
The team responsible for my existence, Knights of the Square Table, did the best they've ever done on their own, and got to feast on a complimentary appetizer for being the first team to figure out Kevin Costner was our Guess Who. You guys nailed it! (Ni!)
The Implication and Home Team were fighting for that second place spot, but fortunately for The Implication, Home Team was significantly less knowledgeable on his "drops" and North American Risk territories.
Thirsty Pretzels took home the gold again. After the first two rounds, we were hopefully that tonight would be a "perfect game," but as your Quizmaster is notorious for doing, she might've jinxed 'em; constellation connections really weren't kind to them. Kudos to you guys, anyway!

Everyone survived the holiday weekend earthquakes, and most importantly, no bottles of alcohol on any Recess Room shelves were lost to the tremors. Huzzah!
King Trivia players REALLY had things shaking tonight. Aged in Wood held a good lead from the get go, only to have that lead grow and grow thanks to a Hawaii double-down and their knowledge on TV pets and British jargon. Shaking Off Parkinsons (a funny AND relevant team name!) played it cool and discreet until the very last round, when they shocked everyone with a 20-point double down and sailed into first place!
Ava's Minions (sans Ava) and Thirsty Pretzels (sans pretzels) were fighting to go home with ANYTHING they could get their hands on tonight, since first and second place weren't options, and Aged In Wood held off on their Guess Who? answer so they could be absolutely sure Octavia Spencer was the one to score them a free appetizer. But Ava's Minions, betrayed by Reese Witherspoon in Round 4, also threw Hail Marys on British slang, Terminator movie titles, and our UN Security Council friends -- but to no avail.
Revenge of the Home Team was just happy to be not stuck at home with food poisoning. NOT from the Recess Room, let's make that clear! 🙂
Tonight was fantastic for everyone who knew their Pulp Fiction fun facts and island connections, but there were some struggles on Australian mammal cartoons and movie narrators.
Fate decided that since Thirsty Pretzels almost had a perfect game last week, they would toss all the double-down faux pas' and kiddie cartoons in their direction. Aged Wood didn't do that much better, so I think it's safe to assume everyone was just distracted by the exciting soccer match and morose Angels/Rangers game (rest in peace, Skaggs).
Yroz Family Values, in spite of parents being of NO help, took home the third place prize, with a poppin' double down in Round 3 -- a call which may have saved the game for them.
Asians Who Don't Raisin took home the free Recess Room appetizer for being the first to figure out the Guess What? movie, as well as second place altogether. See what good showing up to play on time does? ^_^
Ava's Minions (Ava herself showed up late, so she gets less than half the credit) doubled down on general knowledge and knew all their movie narrators, which led to their success in spite of Muslim populations being their worst round of the evening.
