QUIZ RECAP

Hello September 2020. We have made it this far in this pandemic pause. Hurray for Trivia to get our minds in a happy zone! Our weekly nighttime warriors of fun filled up the patio at the Recess Room with returning victors like Ava's Minnons, Highway Stars and The Bogies plus courageous winning newbie teams Paige and Friends, That's What She Said and the Chris duo.

Full Moon Fun under the strands of patio lights with 7 rounds of questions with correct and funny answers. Kudos for incorrect humorous adlib answers which made me laugh and in turn I shared with the group thus creating more laughter. Some teams show up on time, some later, some have to leave early to finish the drive home to work early, so either way we are glad you spent some time with us to renew your spirit with good food, refreshing drinks and trivia team building experiences.

QUIZ RECAP

Oh what a night! Almost full moon in the sky. We had three returning teams and two newbies. 14 folks having their nighttime recess at the wonderful RECESS ROOM IN HB!

The full crew of Highway Stars of Evelyn, Jerry and Kiet are a tough team to beat but Ava's Minnons are fearless with Brian, Yvonne, Veronica and Lauren. Congratulations. The family that plays together has FUN! Congratulations on being registered teams as your team gets a 2 point bonus.

The newbie table of Alex and Steven of Menace To Soberiety gave it their best shot but they had to leave for other obligations. Well done with 16 points in three rounds. Double or Nothing is a risky roulette to play and you did great.

The Bogies' Julian and Steven took over as the fourth team in round 4 after their golf game. Julian grew up with a grandfather who LOVED JEOPARDY so his grandson is following in his footsteps. 18 points in 3 rounds is very good. Thank you Justin for the show and tell of your awesome leg tattoo of your love for music!

Triple with the honeymooners Amy and Matt plus coworker Justin did their best and the hard work paid off with Justin staying on till the end when the birthday boy needed to fly the coup with his bride. Well done Justin for winning 3rd place. Please bring back your team!

Taking care of the house guests is the hosts with the most! Roy and the crew of Chad, Kendall, Sergio, Jorge and the kitchen staff! Well done team Recess Room!

Round 1 of General Knowledge- well we learned some new facts about bingo boards, divas, the Hirshhorn Museum of Art and the women's right to vote. It looked like most of you paid attention in school!

Round 2 - Picture Round- 'I'd Like to Thank My Babysitter' gives the meaning of nanny new cinematic meaning with the 8 pictures to match. Movie fans triumphed on this round.

Round 3 - Turning Japanese. Such a great culture. Thank you for some many things that enriches our lives. Some tricky questions in this round. We all learned the Japanese for 'empty orchestra'!

Round 4 - Guess Who? (Or NOT!) This round is great for the trivia quizmaster as it is ONLY ONE ANSWER!! The QR code makes the scoring paperless yet it is still the configurations of scoring! This one was known by music fans who actually saw this artist in concerts.

Round 5 - Find The Connection. Ten questions to connect the dots......Great round for TV, film and cartoon fans who eat ice cream bars, read their currency and love trains. I will say no more. You had to be there.

Round 6 - Hand Out of Cartoon Companies. The skill of matching the fictitious business to the animated show...from cartoons from the 60s through the 70s and beyond!

Round 7 - Write Like the Dickens! 14 possible but just 10 answers needed. This list does not include the novella A Christmas Carol or the unfinished novel The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Just a reminder that Christmas is only 4 months away! Yet every Wednesday doing King Trivia at Recess Room is a present every week making new friends, seeing old friends, winning prizes, laughing, great food and refreshments in the sunset of Southern California!

QUIZ RECAP

Oh what a hot August night! We had a cool time in the chill zone enclosed outdoor patio with three lounge couches and dark wood tables. The Recess Room knows how to have recess fun in outdoor dining no matter the circumstances. We had three returning teams with Highway Star featuring Keit with newbie Heidi, The Einsteins with Lauren, Megan and Tim, The Bogies duo of Julian and Steve. Newcomers were The Sting partners of Corinne and Will who are professional bartenders on a night off, The Old Cubans Duo of Sunna and Karla are two lovely ladies who kept their night out going from the couch dining area of the big white tents to trivia plus the Day Date couple aka as Mr. Mrs. Coleman - Alyssa and Scott, who were enjoying their day off.

Everyone did well with the paperless QR code and their phones to answer the questions.

Another delightful night being pampered by owner Roy and staff of Dany, Chad, Jorge, Elaine, Sergio, Rodney, Asia, Haile. We miss seeing their smiles but their eyes were bright and cheerful. Their great vibes shine even with required masks on. We had some latecomers which we understand and one team had to leave a little early. Either way the more the merrier.

General knowledge in Round 1 set the fun tempo of the trivia with Netflix references as many of us have become binge watchers during this pandemic pause. Round 2 wit the Piece Among Rolls was an intriguing flashback from childhood board games. The Cherry answer was so close for many but O not quite right. Yes those little mice do look like little running pigs. Oink!

Round 3 with Pasta La Visa, Baby had everyone using their brain noodles to guess the answers of currency or type of noodle.

Round 4 of Guess Who? Those Viking Redheads have so much talent!

Round 5 for Find the Connection was almost a Double or Nothing win for The Sting who got stung. Ouch! Good try.

Round 6 The Little Drummer Boy was a bang on musical journey of memories for the competitive patio of trivia game warriors. Well played.

Round 7 Wu-Tang for Life! Was the highlight of the night who Roy reciting all of the answers by memory for the recap.
